Munster did get away with a lot around the ruck, but good on them for getting away with it. The introduction of Brad Thorn and Mils was much needed, they clearly made a difference with Mils setting up Joe for the try.
the problem with Donald is that he doesn't make full use of the centers. even when Kahi came on he wasn't allowed to play because Donald tries to do everything himself. Why does he always do those grubbers? they only work 10% of the time. The centers have a better success rate of breaking than those useless duds. Even when he goes to take kicks goals it makes me feel on edge. Have the AB's ever had such an unstable first five? |

| What the he.ll was that I watched this morning ? Apart from a few AB's I've seen better Air New Zealand sides than this lot Henry fronted up with. |

| Another good call di. When Thorn came on the forwards composure increased. As a Bay supporter I would love to see Elliot on the bench for the upcoming tests. Same with Messam. |

very smart move to put on brad thorn in the last 10 mins, that was probably the winning of the game,
thorns calmness, steely resolve, aggression and a winning mindset + hikas accurate lineout throwing, two crucial astute changes that needed to be made!!
maybe a bench spot for hika v wales?..but i doubt it,they'll probably stay with tegel man |

| Too right di. Piri didn't get much support from his forwards either. |

piri seemed as though he was trying 'too hard',i dont know if the ab captaincy affected his game or not
but he wasnt the usual 'authoritive' piri
very messy/tricky around the ruck area made for a shambles at times, and the reffing was 'dodgy','no hands' then players are seen clearly infringing by using hands yet getting away with it?..strange really?.......
good experience for the players for sure,a bit of an insight into the european game/psychee,very much spoilers, but,if they get away with it,good on them,it aint cheating unless your caught i suppose? |

| Messam not far away from being "there". He played wel AND stepped up at the end when things needed settling down. Everyone here is right about Donald. Just doesn't seem to have the extra something we want for our All Black 1st Fives. As mentioned I thought Toeava looked not bad considering he was at 12. He has impressed me on the tour so far (for the first time). Unfortunalty I think Hosea didn't help his chances of another shot on this tour, especially with Joe coming back. |

| Messam was good, but still needs to work on his combination with half back at the back of scrum. Many times either Messam or the half back ran to opposite sides of the scrum and got isolated. Messams work load was phenomenal. |

| I actually thought Waldrom had a shocker in the last quarter. Maybe not used to the speed of ABs game. In the last few minutes, he was maybe 3 or 4 times standing on the edge of the ruck just hanging onto someones shirt rather than clearing out or driving the opp forwards back. I think on 2 occasions when we went ahead, he got cleared out of the way after just standing there trying to be the halfback instead of protecting the ball. |

Weepu is a solid 10 for wellington when they need hm but not the AB's sorry. He's a bit slow and is better at making play close to the ruck that with the space a 10 gets.
I can imagine it would be tough out there for donald having to work with players he has not had much time to work combinations with. I think it's the first time we have seen Toeava at 12?
So much of what a 10 gets to do is dictated by the players around them. 9 & 12 and also the loosies. Donald will come good. |

| Donald just seems to lack composure. He seemed very tense in everything he did, composed like Dan. It seemed to set the tone for the game. |

oh 4reals dirtysouth
all good, even i'll admit the don had a shocker!!
ive seen a few of them types of games from him?!
way too hot and cold, and when i say cold,he freezes
and looks lost, inside passes going everywhere
chip and regathers to no one,you name it,i saw it too
once he went away from his running game
and tried to be 'smart' with his passing
i think that was his undoing? |

| mackintosh, not sure on him, got the size yes but often a little boy in a huge mans body.. long way to go. give it time i guess, donald oh donald... he almost lost that game single handed like so'ia'olo did in rustenburg, he made couple of good breaks yes but he was awful the rest of the time. takes to much on himself and is very slow to distribute after receiving from the weepu, should have slotted weepu to first five and he should have gone off and weepu should be kicker instead of donald. i hope steven brett has a big super 14 its gunna be tough with out dc next tri nations, on a note apart from weepu, rokocoko, waldrom and messam the whole team was decisively average today, very inedxperienced but they will all be better for it, they will all be relieved they won |

i've not seen the game yet but looking at the makeup of the side I think these guys should get a break. Very untried lineup, even greaner than the lineup used for the scots. In particular the mid field. I'm sure that made it tough for Donald.
MacIntosh is a pick for the future, I think he is here for devalopment more than anything else. The guy has a huge future, he will be better off after an experience like that.
Will be good to see the game, I think a replay is on at 8:30 pmm on sky. |

| With Brendon Leonard coming back into the frame next year, and both Weepu and Alby Mathewson in the Wellington and Hurricanes team, Weepu could definitely be an option, sorry di, but I would have to say that he would most probably be a better option than Donald, he was exposed once again. |

| I agree Franks not to good as well, but Macintosh's general play was terrible. He got the ball turned over a few times, dropped the ball, was far less than dominant at rucks. I would argue that there are far more and worse issues with his game |
