Oh Well!! another lions tourny over, I thought on the hole the lions played quite well and made the bokes play too,
Perhaps if we'd had the bounce of the ball the run of the green things would have been a little different.
I really dont think you need to worry too much about the S,Africans we cut their line pretty easy with a scratch side.
We play New Zealand in the autumn, as well as Samoa, Argentina, Australia, then we tour New Zealand, two tests,
I'll be back in the autumn, Might even pop in to see your response to the tri nations.
Good luck to you all, remember to keep your powder dry,
Regards Andy.
PS Before I go I would just like to say don't think too harshly of the ABs being beaten by France, On their day they are a match for anyone, their problem is they don't have too many of those days. ;0))))
PSS still looking for digs. ;-) |

Andy I'm not quite sure what I said this time that so greatly offends you or turns you into a condecending pratt.
My take on the game is pretty simple, as I posted IMO the Lions won the game in the 1st 30 mins when the Boks were run off their feet, the Boks didn't play well and will be disapointed with the fact they didn't really fire a shot. And I thought the Boks had the edge in a pretty messy scrum battle. Nothing to controversial in there I wouldn'nt have thought??
I posted last week that the Lions played really well and were unlucky not to win. But I'm not sure why I'm required to heap praise on you and the Lions because they won a test match.
If all the other posters on here feel they need or want to then great, not sure why you obviously feel that I should as well. Will I congratulate the Boks if they beat the Aussie's? Nah, I might just comment on how I thought the game played out.
Did you come on here with praise and personal congratulations for me and the AB's when the AB's beat France?? Nah, and I wouldn't expect you to either.
Yeah I did ask for your opinion on why the NH teams can't seem to replicate the same passion and skill as the Lions do, not sure why thats such a terrible question this week, given I asked you last week and you said "thats a good question" but didn't answer because of computer problems??
And as Nic said, if the home unions can replicate what the Lions did we will be in for a great EOYT, if they deliver what they normally do, the AB's will post 30 in each teat again and you guys will fail to score a try. |

Yes well done to the Lions. Over the 3 matches they have out scored the Boks by 11 points (74-63)
Does the protest "Justice 4" also apply to the Lions #4?
To me that was deliberate. Shaw has always been a dirty player (much like Bakkies really) but his ban is justified. |

All I have to say is well done to the lions! They deserved the win. The series would not have reflected the closeness of the contests had it been 3-0 to the boks. The lions out passioned the boks in that game.
Key moment: the intercept try - 14 point spread, if the boks had scored then it would have been very interesting |

| The Wallabies have the personnel to emulate the Lions gameplan i think. Nz not so much and only because Carter wont be calling the shots from pivot where the Wally's have Giteau and Barnes. We have the linebreakers, its the decision making that's letting us down atm. |

| The Lions well and truly showed the way. They were bulldozing over the advantage line almost at will which set the platform for some superb running rugby from the midfielders. |

Yeah, I don't buy into the aura of Bok invincibility that has suddenly popped up ever since the Bulls won the S14.
Don't get me wrong, they'll be a tough nut to crack but when are they not?
They are also hamstrung bigtime by that fool in the coaching box.
Chill out sprout and have some faith in your team! |

Sprouty, I disagree mate.
The Springboks have been that intense and stuff in previous years as well. It's not really anything new. Personally, I think the Wallabies and All Blacks equally have good chances at beating these guys. The Tri Nations is anyone's for the taking to be honest. I watched the 3rd Boks game as well. Plus remember, even though the Boks won the series they only JUST got there in both of those games really.
The All Blacks will likely have Sivivatu, Smith, So'oialo, McCaw, Hore, Woodcoke back so I'm sure with those guys, the psychical side of things will pick up. Let's wait and see. |

Andy, I think this is the first time I've agreed with ya mate! And on all 3 of your points. Hey, when the Lions came down here didn't the All Blacks play for their provinvial sides? I can't remember. But I do know the Maori All Blacks played for the Maori side.
Also agree on South African ticket prices. When Nick Mallet was coach of the Springboks he criticized the ticket prices. They must really love their rugby in SA though because the crowds this year have been pretty damn good regardless of prices.
I can't wait to hear Peter DeVillage Idiot's comments. Rememeber, this was a man who claimed he was God's gift to rugby or something. He also claimed last year that he would only accept the Springboks winning EVERY SINGLE game. So it should be interesting on how he reacts. |

Nick,I heard Donald has a hammy injury as well.
IMO Donald is the better first 5 and maybe Macalister to come on later or as cover for Nonu.
Donald just doesn't perform at international level but is great in the S14.Why is that.?
Nerves or the pressure gets to him.
I noticed a bit of a cheer from the crowd when he was taken off late against the French. He must be feeling the pressure from and expectant NZ public |

| sprouty, sometimes you play to the level of the opposition in front of you, SA HAD to step up, NZ lost to France in our first test of the year but the last 2 tests have "done enough" to win. All of the Tri Nations teams step up against each other, it should be an interesting comp. I know you asked gvt, but my pick would be Mac, only because he has a little more X-factor than Donald and if he can recapture a bit of form at 5/8 gives us more options than Donald in offense. |

How do U work that one out on current form gvtstkwi08.
Did u watch the Lions series ?
Did you watch the ABs V France ?
Did u watch them against Italy ?
come on mate,
PS who's your call for first 5 ?
Donald or Macalister.
I just watched the 3rd Lions V SA game and both Oz and NZ will struggle to beat these guys at home.
The intensity and pace of these games have been something Oz and NZ haven't reached yet.

Dirty, There has been some suggestions for the next lions tour, some they will insist on befor the tour.
1/ 10games is not enough the first time the lions test side played togehter as a team was the first test aginst SA.
You must understand that there are players from 4 different countries with 4 different playing styles, these need to bond together as a team after 5 games.
Even renee has to admit thats a hard call.
2/ All the internationals from the home side must play in provincial games, then both teams will have the same injury worries.
3/ Ticket prises must be in line with S14 and Tri Nations, Apparently SA ticket prises were very high, much higher than normal.
Regards Andy. |

I would just like to say that those SAFAAS played like a bunch of AllBlacks stacked with blues players. STOP THE ROT and kick out your Samoan PLayers South Africa!!! LMFAO.
Well Done to the Lions the only Team playing as a single unit on the paddock for mine. Saffas you've won your series but isn't it a b1tch losing to the Northern Hemisphere? Makes Italy game a little more palatable given that you guys won your series but lost that one... doesn't feel good huh? OUch.
Credit due: Well Done LIONS fantastic team display! credit paid! |

| Well done Lions on the win, it is no good for rugby watching the Brittish power house of rugby get spanked 3 nil every 4 years. Well done putting some pride back in the jersey. Remember that was a very good SA team you played in the 1st 2nd test aswell. |

If it wasn't for that bullshyt penalty last week, it'd be a tied series!
But northern players are not rubbish!
They're just made to look extremely rubbish by the great, mighty, powerful, indefatagable All Blacks on many different occasions over the years when they roll into Mellenium, Twickers, Stade de Frogge etc and humble the overconfident home team by plenty.
How's that for a 'wind up'? |

Congratulations Lions - just too good on the night! Well done Andy, you should be proud of the boys. I thought the 'Boks would get stronger through the series - but they didn't. There are issues within the team (all too typical of recent Springbok sides)!
Lions gave a right royal thumping and deserved their win. 'Boks will need to rethink before tri-nations. Lions can go home to a well-deserved rest. |

I reckon Smit is all class, not necessarily the best prop in the world or the best hooker when he played 2, but as a captain, a reader of the game, his influence on the Boks and as a person he seems top notch.
I reckon he will go on to be a good coach when his playing days are over. |

Well done Lions !
Andy,
congrats to u as well. You kept the faith mate.
Sort indicates that the Boks don't have as much depth as i thaught.
Their top team is great but if they get a few injuries they might not be that good this year.
As we all know they don't play well away from home and good to see the Lions run their No#1 team very close and give their second team a bit of a hiding.
Looks good for the Tri |
