Horak your comments get stupider and stupider the more you write. Considering there are Kiwi's playing in just about every test team in the world and also a Kiwi coach involved somewhere, you wouldn't be watching to many gaems, infact you wouldn't be watching any 3N's or 6N's, or Heiny Cup or S14. Shyte mate, you mustn't watch any footy at all!!

Re:The lions in Africa Reply to this message
I've seen the Italy game twice. The AB's align their defense behind the hindmost foot. Not so Italy. This is easily the worst type of cheat in the game as it nullifies attacking play.

Re:The lions in Africa Reply to this message
it was a different skill set those guys needed to win the game. One thing EVERYONE should know is how to play the ref. Ask McCaw. He knows how the get the ref on he's side. I have not seen a game in my live that both teams play 100 by the laws. It's a game of big hits, turn over, big scrums and how you manipulate the game. Things has changed, in rugby you can't get away with stuff you did get away with 10 years ago. I oove the game of rugby and don't really care who wins as long as it's a good game. Also, NZ cheat just as much as every other team and they tried their best against Italy to cheat. if you don't believe me, watch the game again.

Re:The lions in Africa Reply to this message
fair enough but if you consider the amount of blatant cheating from both sides, it was more of a battle of wills than a battle of skills. I always thought that the saffas would prevail as this Lions side is nothing to get excited about. They will lose the third test as well.

Re:The lions in Africa Reply to this message
The 2nd Lions vs Boks test must have been one of the best ever. (do not mention Burger, he needs to go). This was a WAR and a WAR that either side could have won and i would not have cared :-)
That's rugby at it's best. Looked like a good old Lion vs another lion fighting for their pride.

Like i said, i have not saw a better game than this for years, not even provincial, super 14, world cup, 6 nations or tri nations.

Well done both teams.

Well andy, if you read this thread after the last Lions game then as you noted a few of our heads have been turned and opinions swayed. However, keep in mind we react badly to condescending criticism, this is NOT the same as constructive criticism :-)

Re:The lions in Africa Reply to this message
Hey andy,

The turning point was def the two props going off. That and the boks getting steyn and brussow on. The replays of the try don't give concrete evidence either way. He should never have gotten that far thou.

Cracker of the game though.

As for the ref i thought he was very consistent in his rulings which is what you want in a game.

Re:The lions in Africa Reply to this message
Dirty, sinse I've been visiting this board there has not been a kind word about NH rugby,
Yesterday you said Italy will probably beat the weaker teams Scotland and Wales, Wales started with 6 players in that Lions team and when they went off SA started to take control.
I have never said we are the greatest just that we have some players of note,
The Welsh Front Row had the beating of SA and it was a huge let off for them when there was uncontested scrums.

Some Welsh Players that were injured and couldn't make the lions

Ian Evans, Lock Just 22 huge potentiall.

Johnathan Thomas, 6/8 injuries have blighted his career

Ben lewis 7 will be one of the worlds greats

Gavin Henson, 12 great rugby brain, but it switches off once he leaves the field. his brain that is.

Leigh Halfpenny wing fullback, was injured on the lions tour first week, again Huge potentiall.

Tom James 14 a bit raw but improves with each game.

Dwain Peel 9 the best 9 in the NH Gatland wont pick him cause he plays out side of Wales.

Andy

< I'm quite surprised at all the praise >

That is because you underestimate our love of the game andy, despite what you might think we actually DO give credit where it is due, and boy were the Lions "due".

Re:The lions in Africa Reply to this message
I'm quite surprised at all the praise, It seems the Northern hemisphere can play a bit then,
The tied turned when the props went off Gethin Jenkins 42 min
Adam jones 45 min, the work these two do around the tackle area and the breakdown is phenomenal they hit every ruck with a sense of purpose, a huge loos to the lions.
Secondly O Driscol and Roberts our two centres leaving was another blow.
As for Fouries Try Shippy The linesman called foot in touch the ref should have taken that when they went to the TMO and asked is there any reason I cant give the try the answer was of course NO, the angle of the overhead shot puts him clearly in touch, but thats how it goes sometimes,

Some one asked am I blaming the ref, I thought on the hole the ref had a good game the twinkle of a linesman should have put his flag up if he knew it to be foot in touch.

I got very drunk last night along with a few others I'm still in a state of Flux,
5 injuries that wont play in the third test, but now thats all academic.

Regards Andy.

Re:The lions in Africa Reply to this message
Hat's off to the Lions! Man, what a game. Had to go down to Hamilton for hockey tournament at 5.30 this morning so couldn't post - been on the road (so to speak!).

Lions deserved at least a draw..... Didn't think they would stand up again, but at half time my nails were stripped! Devillageidot came up with a masterstoke with the Brussouw sub just in time - (jeez, his play resembles George Smith....) And to have a goal kicker like Steyn.....

Now I'm home again, I'll watch the game again have a few cold ones! What a match. Cheers!

Re:The lions in Africa Reply to this message
Great game of rugby. Two evenly matched teams going at each other in good conditions. Lions dominated the first half but would have been disappointed with an 8 point lead at half time with 70% of the ball. Should have done a bit more.

As for Fouries try, it was brussows foot on the line. poor tackling though as he should have never have gotten close to the line. here is to having more epic tests like this one
