what a game!!!!! cant help but got annoyed at the nz touch judge - who looked like he wanted to run the show the little man....
but in the end - boks wanted it more.....
interesting though - the last time the British Lions actually won a test match was when they were under Graham Henry::):):):):) ( 1st test versus Australia 2001 ) hehe
but what an awesome game.. |

I'm absolutely gutted, SA 28 Lions 25, Lost our shape when the two welsh props went off just after half time. Fourie scored a try but foot was in touch linesman told the ref foot in touch but was ignored. now I'm going to get drunk.

That final penalty was a travesty!
Wtf is this?
I'll say this andy, after tonight, I've changed my tune- the Lions showed a lot of guts and it's a good thing they're not touring NZ this June.
Be two bloody nil by now (and not to the home side!)
Don't get too confident though, the Blacks will rise again! |

WOW, What an outstanding game, the Lions threw everything including the kitchen sink, but the Boks just absorbed it and "timed their run to perfection" in the end.
Unbelievable!!! Brilliant!!! If you watch ONE game of rugby all year, watch this one, it must go down as "the showpiece". |

Thanks Taylor, yes the boks will have to shore up their mid field a little better than last time, which I'm sure they will. our scrum might be better too.
The line out is the boks, they have two superb athletes in Botha and Matfield.
We must also attack the breakdown with a little more ferocity, drive them back protect the ball more, do something about their driving maul took us 50 meteres up field.
Changes have been made to the front row Vickery and mears are out Adam jones and mathew Rees are in, all welsh front row.
Simon shaw in to the second row to give us a bit more weight in stead of Wyn Jones, goes to the bench, Wyn Jones just 22 very athletic but needs a bit more omphh!!
back row stays the same, this is a weakness but probably the best we have on tour.
Half backs the same, centres too,
Wing. Fitzgerald comes in for moyne crossed the line twice and couldn't get the ball down.
Kearny in for Byrne who is injured.
If we can win enough ball and move the boks around we have a chance, although a slim one.
I have a day of rugby
ABs V Italy ABS by 40
Aussies against France I cant see France having another good game in them, not really their style to string Three good performances together. OZ by 10/15
Boks v Lions Heart sez Lions head sez Boks, I cant wait.
Lions by 3 ;-))
Good luck to you all.

Hey Andy,
This next game is going to awesome. The Lions have a supurb fan-base to follow them. It'll be great to see the tide of red at 'fortress Loftus'..... bastion of Afrikanerdom. Even though it's a dinosaur of a stadium, the atmosphere will be electric!
Unfortunately, I fear the men in red will get that right royal rogering, both on and off the field ; ) you allude to. More's the pity..... but the altitude will get to them in the last 20 mins and the Boks won't make the same mistake again.
Good luck though! |

Computers make liars out of most men and paints a far better picture of any women,
I'm afraid I'm a sceptic and need to look you in the eye before I form an opinion.
The problem with computers is that you don't see the glint in the eye or the look on ones face, Because of that Renee thinks I hate him, you think I need to toughen up and Di thinks me an Idiot. :0(
I will say that I do smile a lot on this board. :0)))
Viva Les France.
The lions had a golden opportunity to beat the boks and the lions coaches blew it, including Gatland, they all underestimated the strength of their scrum because we beat the provincial sides easily, they thought it would be the same with their test side.
You are probably right in your assuptions, a goloden opportunity was lost, now we have to fight uphill it will be difficult.
Regards Andy
PS Please tell Renee to toughen up, also I won't Leave. |

DG, Myopic is a word best used for the NZ supporter not eye.
But you could be right, the penalties in the first half killed us, If that happens in the second test we will get a jolly good rogering.(that means we'll get the shyte kicked out of us,) |

[I was asked a question By RC, it was.
Have I ever played Rugby, I declined to answer on the grounds that he could neither repudiate or verify my answer.]
Hey andy, I take everything anyone here says at face value.
There is a very good chance you could be a former Welsh international- some guys posting here have played at high levels (not bloody me- local hack and proud!)
But as to the Lions- I think the Boks are hamstrung by a diabolical coach and this will give the Lions a glimmer of hope but really- they're buggered.
Remember I tipped 2-1 to the Boks before I actually saw the Lions play that excuse for rugby they're passing off, after that it was 3-0.
Most of us would be with the Safricans- they are our fellow southern hemisphere superpower- doesn't mean we hate Wales or anything- your too bloody precious mate! |

| Andy - make like a russian and grow some ballskis, I respect that your a one-eyed fanatic and all but if you could hide the emotional pain of losing for even a minute you would realise your team was the deserved losers. They only turned up in the last 20 minutes, which would be fine if rugby had a 20/20 comp but unfortunately for you its an 80 minute game. And that was the easiest test you will get this year, expect some heavy losses in the next 2 ;) |

Yip Andy, you are the only one who knows about scrums and if you pointed out that the Beast was rolling in, well then who am I and 98% of all other people who watched the game to question such an authority on the game.
Yip again, I only watch what I want, I don't have the intelligence to interperet the finer points unlike you Andy.
Yip and guess what, your right again Andy, I've never actually played the game, you found me out, its all been a bluff.
I had a look thorugh the posts and what I posted about the lions and directed at you and it's pretty clear you have got your knickers in a twist with my comments because others have been far more aggressive and critical than me and they didn't raise a comment from you.
At what stage do you throw your toys out of the cot like last year and threaten not to come back on here unless people play nicely with you? |

I didn't think the Welsh were such Shyte,
I see that may not be derogatory in your eyes,
Yes Renee we got a licking in the scrums, But as I pointed out the Beast was boring in that is a clear penalty to us.
I also think you watch what you want too, and interperet it with out looking at the finer points.
I thought in the last 20/30 min we played some very good rugby. De villiers has put 5 forwards on the bench that tells me he is a little concerned and knows he will have to defend very well to win the next one.
I was asked a question By RC, it was.
Have I ever played Rugby, I declined to answer on the grounds that he could neither repudiate or verify my answer.
But now I start too wonder about you???
Some of the post I'm answering to I don't understand, me attacking you,
I started it,
I think not, you are pron to taking things out of context I just didn't realize to what extreme.
Still your good frind Andy. ;] |

I would have thought me thinking the Welsh won the 6N's was a compliment not a derogtory thing, the 2nd post was pure sarcasium.
I haven't come with any bluster or whatever you want to call it. Select1000 posted immediately after me and came straight out and said "I'm far more extreme than you renee" and then preceded to totally sl.ag all things British, but you didn't make a comment about that you just went straight back at me?
But it doesn't change anything I originally posted anyway. The Lions got their ar.ses kicked, the forwards got a scrummaging lesson and a lesson on how to play with aggression at the break down, and IMO if it weren't for the village idiot they would have put another 10 - 15 points on the Lions in that last 20.
Every rugby scripe that I have read or heard since the weekends game agrees, including the NH writers like Paul Ackford and Peter Bills. The only people who don't seem to be able to come to terms with the facts and are to busy blaming the ref or the Boks for this or that is yourself and the Lions coaches and players.
I like your (misplaced) confidence though Andy, suggesting that this coming game will be an even harder one for the Boks?? Can't work that one out, playing at altitude, Boks are one game fitter, home ground, the village idiot shouldn't make the same mistakes 2 weeks running etc etc.
But we'll see this weekend I suppose, and again, if the Lions win good on them.
regards the buffoon |

Shippy It was a very poor performance true, but 99% of the team that played the emerging Boks will not play in the tests, Perhaps they have given up the ghost.
I honestly think it will be much tougher for the boks this Saturday,
One more point I have never seen the French give two such performances back to back.
They are now all looking to go home, so the score line will flatter the Aussies me thinks, but don't be to concerned, you should put at least 50 on the italians.

I am a little more extreme than you renee. I have a genuine dislike for anything related to the English when it comes to sport. They talk themselves up way more than there form justifies. How often do you hear that Tim Henman will win Wimbledon this year (no justification, in actual fact he was average at best. How often do you hear the English hare sending the best team to the soccer world cup since 1966. They send there best team every time so they must be getting better and better. Surely they must win it before too long....lol. What ajoke!! The media talk them up so much and British sport fans believe them.Geez I hope they don't win the Ashes this year....don't think i can tolerate another year of gloating like in 2005. Was awfull!
I don't just hope the Bok's win, I hope they annihilate the Lions. |

Andy thanks for the advice, your good like that, but I'm not a Boks supporter, but I respect them, their players don't winge or complain, they just get on with it, they are hard men who like to mix it up, they don't harange the ref when a decision goes against them waving their arms around like a conductor, they just deal with it on the field, maybe Paul OConell, BOD and friends should take a leaf out of their book.
As for wanting the Boks to win, I honestly don't care, if I HAD to choose I would back the Boks but if the Lions win I would be completely comfortable with it, so no I didn't watch the game with my eye patch on, its far more likely to be you my friend as you obviously are emotionally involved in the game.
And yip it was the 31st minute Andy, I watched the game knowing before hand that you guys had got given a scrummaging lesson so I watched for it. 4 warnings and then the 1st scrum penalty in the 31st minute, maybe you should watch the game again.
As far as the AB's are concerned, they also missed 2 sitters of try scoring opportunities, and 9 points at goal so if we are counting missed opportunites then the game goes about 37 - 17 to the AB's, bit of a stupid arguement though.
I see the AB's will be playing the Welsh at the end of the year, obviously our once great team is in huge trouble and are ripe for the picking, you must be favourites for the EOY game, been the #1 NH team for the last couple of years and all.
I watch the Lions test next week like you adviced me Andy and I'll try and learn as much as possible. |
