{BTW you never replied about the room!!}

Mate, I'm in Australia now!
The old man has a spare bed in Auckland but he's a Welsh hating Englishman from Stepney.
You two would get on like a house on fire!

Re:The lions in Africa Reply to this message
Andy, we have a team called "Canterbury" in NZ, believe it or not, "Canterbury" is NOT "The Crusaders", even though even calls them Canterbury, and The Blues "Auckland".

But, they aren't Andy, and the "Golden Lions" are a Currie Cup side who are a feeder team to the S14 side "The Lions".

What is so hard to get about that?

You beat a Currie Cup side by 70 points, you beat the 14th placed S14 side by 2, yep, that's about right LOL

*******Transvaal, played their first match on 31 August 1889 against the Griquas in Kimberley. They changed their name from 'Transvaal' to the 'Lions' in 1993, and then to the 'Golden Lions' in 1998.********

I must be missing something here, I've read this half a dozen times, then I asked my Daughter who is training to be a lawyer to read it and interprite it to me as I am kind of confused, It seems not as much as you Dirty Ha Ha Ha, I rest My case. ;0))))

What about the Free State Cheaters Do they play in the S14 or is that too just a curry cup side????

Well I can see there is no point trying to reason with you dirty, So I leave you in your ignorance.

Yours truly Andy. ;0)))))))))

Ha ha!
I wasn't wrong either!
Sorry andy my good mate- it really is all of us vs you on this one!

As to the cowardly Lions.
Crushed, killed, destroyed.
(They should still only tour NZ though.)

Re:The lions in Africa Reply to this message
Here is a question for the real rugby heads. See if you know the answer without looking it up online. It took me a while before getting this answer.

Question : Who is the only rugby international team who is still un-defeated to the All Blacks?

Re:The lions in Africa Reply to this message
It is always funny hearing people talking about the “The All Blacks were the world‘s best of Amateur days of rugby.”

The All Blacks by far have dominated the professional error of rugby era, excluding the world cups obviously. Their rugby international and Super 14 statistics are phenomenal.

If the All Blacks were the king of the professional era then you would have to admit that the Springboks were the king of the amateur era. If you are looking for stats then lookup the first un-official Rugby World Cup hosted in Australia in 1951. Lookup international stats between countries only in the amateur era obviously.

I miss the old rivalry of the All Blacks vs. Springboks. The rugby world must bring this back!

Re:The lions in Africa Reply to this message
I do think tho this Lions side is alot better than the one that came over here a couple of years ago.I agree with Sprout as i woulkd like to see the Lions bash the Boks around a bit and soften them up for the Tri Nations, hopefully Spies,Habana,Steyn and a few others pick up injurys and our out for the Iveco series as we need abit of luck this year me thinks.

Re:The lions in Africa Reply to this message
interesting to see the British kittens almost got beaten by super14's wooden spooners...

think it's safe to say they will find playing SA a bit tough.

I think the best game I ever went to was Waikato beating the Lions, I was a kid but the atmosphere was awesome

Re:The lions in Africa Reply to this message
<<< The Golden Lions were established in 1889, making them the fourth oldest team in South Africa. The team, originally named the Transvaal, played their first match on 31 August 1889 against the Griquas in Kimberley. They changed their name from 'Transvaal' to the 'Lions' in 1993, and then to the 'Golden Lions' in 1998.

The team won the Currie Cup for the first time in 1922, and won it again in 1939, 1950, 1952, 1972, 1993, 1994, and 1999 >>>

Andy, I am not "a tad wrong on this occasion", IT IS YOU who IS WRONG, HAS BEEN WRONG, AND IS STILL WRONG!!!!

The Golden (Xerox)Lions are a Currie Cup side who are also a feeder side to the S14.

Andy,
Secretly,
both Oz and NZ are hopeing U can do the Biz to SA.
I know Oz people find it hard to cheer for UK sides,(but that's a history we all know)but against SA i,personally will be hopeing you do well in the series.
SA need to be bought down a peg or two ,if only to stop their arragant supporters comming on here mouthing off.
But don't worry if the Lions aren't up to it ,SA normally fail Tri-Nation time.
It's only banter Andy

Re:The lions in Africa Reply to this message
Good morning all, once again the golden lions are a super 14 side, Against the cheaters ther were 10 lions that haden't played a game so a lack of cohesion was expected, the sin binning afected them, they were lucky to win that one, but a win is a win.;))
But it is now about finding out who's who!!
For those of you that don't know, the lions are a team made up of 4 countries, so it does take time to jell,
thats what the lions coaches are doing, every one now has had a game, In the next couple of weeks the lions test side will be picked, and the dirt trackers as they are called will be surplus to requirment. Got it???

I don't understand all the hostility, I am not in the least belligerent to you or your teams, yet "you" at every opportunity find some derogitve remark, either about me or the team or country I support,
I cant help but defend my country and team you regard them as worthless couldn't even beat a S14 side.
Well one of your S14 sides couldn't beat a rag tag outfit that the lions put together, which incidently beat one of the best S14 sides in your country.

Regards Andy.

Re:The lions in Africa Reply to this message
The difference between a Currie Cup team and S14 team Andy, about 70 points mate.

But the point is whether it be the Gautang Lions Currie Cup team or the Cheetahs, or the Crusaders or the Bulls for that matter you would expect the best players from the NH coming together with the Lions traditions to comfortably beat a S14 team, no matter which one it was.

Re:The lions in Africa Reply to this message
Look at how the bulls played in the final, they played smart rugby, it was not intimidation or physicalness, the bulls were more tactically aware then the chiefs, ground them down and fed off opportunities the chiefs provided, without a doubt, wynand olivier, fourie de prees, pieree speiees, victor matfield and bakkiess botha are all the best players in their positions at this time, british lions have not tasted the true qualities of south african rugby until they meet the boks, expect dissapointment andybear.
