The team is weak and I thiink there is a positive in terms of having them get a run whilst still managing a win. Grant said a while back a champion team can beta a team of champions. At tghe end of the day the gulf would have been there had the first stringers take to the field IMHO.
I don;t personally feel like the sky is falling but good for the Saffas and Aussie...The ABS need this type of thign in their faces becasue it is fromt his that the players should be made to feel hungry. On that point I think this whole singing of the anthem thing is ludicrous and at the end of the day the more the (NZ)public insist on stupid things such as singing the more we deserve dumb rigby LMFAO.
Do no ever count out the ABs... remember they are the best team in the world. Later Haters! |

| This has to be one of the weakest All Blacks in decades. It will be interesting to see how well Graham Henry does this year. As he has been blessed with so many talented players in the past. |

| ahhh i thought that Lions game against the royals was great... i think the Lions will do well against the Boks, and i think the Boks will be average.... all the hype but wont live up to the expectations everyones putting on them, there downfall again this year will be their coach (DeViliiers) theres always issues going on when he is around i.e. racism, politics etc etc and i can see that being a distraction for the Boks again this year as usuall. |

After watching the cowardly Lions alleged performance against the kings XV of nobodies.
I can say the Boks will absolutely crush them.
But crushing a rubbish team full of northern players, who have media given reputations and little else wont give the Boks the tough matches they'll need to win the Tri nations- remember we lost the first game in the republic in 2005 after spanking the Lions. |

The ABs aren't the Chiefs, or the Hurricanes, the Highlanders, the Crusaders or even the Blues. You can't even look at the relative positions in the S14 table to see how the national team will perform. They're a composite team, made up of some of best from each, and if they're picked well, they make a whole that is much better than the sum of its parts.
Same with the Wallabies, same with the 'Boks.
Yes, winning the S14 is going to be a boost for the 'Boks, but that boost isn't going to last beyond the first match - after that it's all going to be the performance in the previous Tri-Nations game that affects the team.
We are generally the top three teams in the world, and the moment we disrespect the abilities of either of the other two, we're on the road to a hiding at their hands. If the 'Boks think they'll walk all over the others, they'll lose, and if the ABs think they'll walk all over the others, they'll lose too. It ain't enough to talk the talk, you gotta walk the walk. |

YES I agree mike, New Zealand expectation is higher than realizm sometimes , However super 14 was so up and down
through injury, etc....The Bulls turned it on at home advantage and deserve the award, But Never confuse super 14 with an International test....
the Bulls are not the South Africain Test team.....and the Chiefs are most certainly not the All Blacks....anyone entertaining that idea is OVER passionate and living iin DREAM world...axe |

| Of course this is nothing new. I remember last year when a lot of Kiwis were worrying and saying that Ireland would come out here and beat us because of the re-building we had to do after the World Cup. Not only did we win the series but also a Tri nations, Bledisloe and a Grand Slam. So there you go. |

| I've said it in another thread but I'll say it again, even though it's been mentioned by someone else as well. International Rugby is not Super 14 Rugby. Quit worrying. Not in an arrogant way, but I'm quite confident the All Blacks can scoop up another Tri nations but, as always, they'll have to work hard. I don't think the Boks are favourites based from this. The Bulls play no better than a team like the Highlanders or Reds away from home anyway. And Chris, yea sure a lot of our bigger players like Williams, So'oialo, McCaw and even McAlister aren't included in the France/Italy tests. But currently those guys, but McAlister, is carrying some form of niggle. Would you rather give them a break and rest them against France B? Or risk losing them for the entire year? Look I just think your being very negative but hey, it's your opinion and you can say whatever you want. |

| Yeah it's just an opinion and I wouldn't mind being proved wrong by the end of the year but looking at things objectively - and I live out side NZ - and taking into account things like SA strength across the park and of course the Deans factor in Oz - a man who does not like to come second - and picking up on injury/fatigue trends that may or may not continue with the Blacks I don't really see myself as a fool ... but time will tell ... |
