I thnk dingo has answered how much he rates (fears) McCaw by naming 3 open sides in his 22. Dingo had often used Smith at 8 late in a game, so it wouldn't suprise me if towards the end of the game you saw Dingo running 3 open sides at the same time.
And it sure is a strong team, but if the Aussies can't beat us at the moment with all the issues we have had then they may as well quit playing the game altogether. |

strong side for sure, on even terms I'd not give them a chance but with so many disruptions through the whole AB lineup they are in a very poor situation.
AB's could loose this one but as long as injuries don't get worse they should continue to improve throughout the series. I'd say the all blacks are 3 weeks/games away from being properly prepared for a Tri nations test. |

Australia: Adam Ashley-Cooper, Lachie Turner, Stirling Mortlock (capt), Berrick Barnes, Drew Mitchell, Matt Giteau, Luke Burgess, Wycliff Palu, George Smith, Richard Brown, Nathan Sharpe, James Horwill, Al Baxter, Stephen Moore, Benn Robinson. Reserves: Tatafu Polota-Nau, Ben Alexander, Dean Mumm, Phil Waugh, David Pocook , Will Genia, James O'Connor.
That REALLY IS a strong side. On paper they look much better than the AB's. The only perceived weakness I think they have are their 2 props. Al Baxter likes massaging the turf with his face, and Robinson just hasn't impressed me in general play.
The bench is incredibly strong with 2 openside flankers on the bench and the 2 wonder boys O'Connor and Genia.
I am not throwing the towel in, but I will be pleasantly surprised if we do gt up against this side, and not too disappointed if we don't. |

Brax
Are you sure you want to get rid of the likes of Jerome, Kevy and Joe? Without Jerome we have no mongrel in the loose. Kieren Read reminds me alot of of another player who apparently was a leader amongst the All Blacks
(Reuben Thorne) who was invisible during most games. Kevin adds another dimension to the front row and Joe will find form. But if you get rid of them, then prepare to lose many more games. Besides who will you replace them with ? If you didnt know, everyones bloody injured. |

Agree that Eden Park will be the watershed game for the Ozzies.
I was happy with what the Waratahs achieved over there this S14 aand also winning 3 games on the trot in SA and am optimistic of a good showing from the national side this year.
Also agree that Oz would prefer a dry track as it suits our style of play and what we are used to.
I think SA look the form side with Oz 2nd and NZ 3rd going on current form.
NZ performance against Italy was sub standard and big ups to the Iti's they played well but NZ must also look at that performance and question their ability this year. |

with Aussies average performance against Italy in two tests[winning by 20 points in each game] and the one try against France, they have to beat us at Eden park first to even get a sniff of the Bledisloe.
Aussie have been playing in perfect conditions,on a dry and good running track and really havnt put any of these sides to the sword with real conviction.
They havent impressed me,The Yaapies have more fight than them.
ABs to win at Eden park 21-12 in the rain or 22-3 if its dry and ricthie is there. |
