| I saw a club game in 07 (?) where Ross was playing no8, I couldnt understand at the time - why isnt this guy in the crusaders squad? He looked like an adult playing against a U-15 team |

I think Boric did a great job last year, did not get the starting chances Ross has has but he was very solid coming off the bench when he was needed.
I think I pointed out on page 1 James Ryan pretty much quit top rugby because he did not like the public life of being an all black. And he had surgery 3 times in 12 months on leg injuries - which was also a factor in him changing his priorities.
That's how I understand it anyway.
I consider our top 4 locks
Thorn
Williams
Boric
Ross
that's assuming Williams is going to get fit again, But I dont thing we are going to see him in the tri nations.
The other bonus is that Evans has not looked out of place when he has come on. Looked very solid at lineout and kickoff time. Can see why he was next in line for the AB's. |

Ross has done more in his first few outings as an AB, than Anthony Boric did in his entire AB season last year.
What has happened to James Ryan the "ginge" from the highlanders. Was his injury career ending? |

I was surprised how well the Crusaders went against the Bulls in the semi compared to the Chiefs against the Bulls in the final. Thorn and Ross were definitely a part of that.
Locks have to understand each other, and play together as a pair. Same with props, generally, which is why coaches tend to pick pairs that play together in a provincial team when they can, so they already know how to work together and support each other. There are several positions where you pick combinations, not just individuals; and when one person gets injured, just watch the gameplay... |

well don't forget that the crucaders vs the bulls was Thorn + Ross vs. Matfield + Botha
And I think Thorn and Ross won both encounters but they sure as hell dominated the first. Botha in particular was viably upset by how things went in that game. |

Better watch out andy- Ross will be a part of the team that rolls into Cardiff later this year and humiliates your team on its home soil yet again.
Remember the name.
Ohh!! I don't expect anything els RC, but needs to play top oposition not those Panzy French before we consider him great, hmmm!! |

dont forget the crucaders also already have a quality bench Lock in the form of Patterson
Brad thorn is getting on but I think he will work his but off to stay at the top of his game till the world cup.
jack will be interesting, at 30 he's still in his prime and has so much experience. If he works hard enough I cant see why he cant get back into the top flight. |

| Given that we no longer have a great supply of players any more he'll slot straight into the Crusaders starting line-up. |

| Yes j.hukui I was talking Triggs from Manawatu/Otago. He has never played for Cantab. Issac Ross is definitely the In form player and has had good mentors to follow. Just what I think Triggs needs. Triggs certainly can be "mongrel" on the field & has great aerial skills. |

| I think Isaac Ross just needs to get a bit of mongrel about him, once he tours South Africa he will ok, if they dont toughen him up he never will be a good international player |

I think James Ryan quit rugby and he hated the public lifestyle of being an all black. he also underwent 3 leg operations in a year.
I think he just found a new set of priorities
shame he was an awesome player, seemed to surely become a very good regular all black. |
