This is a professional era, therefore ,we should have the best coaches available.
The NZRU should negotiate with Peter De Villiers ,the South African coaching Guru, we need him and we need him NOW,before Henry and his morons destroy our Rugby.
Peter has his critics, but now matter how you look at him, his selection policies make a lot more sense than Henry`s do.

Hansen is relatively good, and you gotta feel for the guy - he was all but promised the head coach job when Henry stepped down, only Henry doesn't want to step down - he didn't after the World Cup, and now he's going to stay as head coach all the way to the next World Cup. If Henry doesn't step aside for Hansen after that one, Hansen won't stick around. He wants a head coaching job, and if NZ won't give him one, he'll look elsewhere.
Yes, Deans has had a major impact on the Wallabies - just look at their defensive patterns now compared to a couple of years ago - but he seems happy where he is now and Oz seems happy to have him, so we may as well forget about him being the AB head coach in the near future.
Hansen, perhaps. It'd be interesting to see what he'd do.

Re:the rumblings have started Reply to this message
I do rate hansen as well, I really think he knows what he is doing.

But I also see henry's mark on the all blacks last year, when all is said and done it was the all blacks defence that was the difference in so many games. Keeping SA scoreless and the tour north with no tries conceded. And for so long no points at all in the 2nd half of test matches.

Henry is the defense coach of the all blacks and he is also the organizer of the other two.

So when you consider the fact that those 3 guys seem to work well together I have to say I think Henry really is doing his job well.

I'm sure it's not perfect, you get the feeling hansen does want to be the head coach. But I'm not sure now is the time to shake the boat.

Deans is not coming back so forget that. Hansen is a great coach they should let him choose his assistants and show henry the door.

Yeah, good post larksea.
And very good point about the Wallabies without Smith, Stirlo etc.
They'd be well and truly buggered.

larksea's is right.

The ABs are dealing with an injury crisis similar to the one the Blues had but not as worse.

Re:the rumblings have started Reply to this message
laurie was a good coach back in his day - even in the super 12 with the cats team (who made the semi finals twice under mains) but hes got to remember that his all blacks side struggled when foxy retired. they tried out simon mannix and then went for stephen bachop. henry is experiencing the same problems with dan carter out.

remember under mains we lost a test series to france in 1994 on HOME soil. he also lost a test series to the wallabies in 1992, not forgetting how he lost to england in 1993.

let henry and co figure it out. they did it last year because they had the chance to.

Re:the rumblings have started Reply to this message
yeah I did not understand that comment about the blues as well. I mean the guy cane back to NZ and got a job helping out with teh blues and all of a sudden they won the super14. Then he gets the all black job, steps away from the blues and...

The one glaring problem that sticks out with the all blacks right now is injuries. Not just now but over the entire super14 so many key players have been kept out.

McCaw
Carter
Williams
Sivivatu
Kahui
Smith
Hore

Just look at that list! that is the heart of last years world dominating side. And they are missing or have had serious injury disruptions.

Add to that the list of players that have also had serious injury disruptions this year.

Kaino
Woody
Afoa
Blackie
Gear

Think about it! You always expect 1 or even 2

How would the aussie team be without
Smith
Mortlock
Getau
Moore
Sharpe
Mitchell

Would the be the same awesome team and everyone would be hailing dingo Deans as the 2nd coming of Jesus?

Of course not, they would suck! and be about to get a serious beating.

Needless to say if south africa were in our situation they would have just badly lost a Lions Test Series.

I think rather than shooting the coach we sould be concentrating on getting our guys fit again and making sure the same does not happen in 2010 & 2011.

Makes a news story though eh Mainsie? Gets him in the headlines...

The Blues were always strong under Henry.

The calls for Graham Henry to step down as All Blacks coach have started.

Former coach Laurie Mains says it is hard to judge from the outside, but he is having trouble trying to pick up the pattern the All Blacks are trying to play.

"That sort of says to me that the pattern's too complicated for the players to accurately implement. If that is the case, that will impact the skill part of their game, I think, as they start to force things."

He respects what Henry has done in his time, but his contract should be severed this year. He says six years is too long to coach a national team.

"To be fair to Graham he's had some great successes as a coach, but every team he's coached, towards the end of his time with them, they've dropped away."

Mains has cited the examples of the Blues, Wales, the Lions and now the All Blacks where Henry has been involved. He says Chiefs coach Ian Foster, Hurricanes coach Colin Cooper and even Crusaders coach Todd Blackadder could be considered as alternatives.

"I was really impressed with the way the Chiefs put their games together this year. They played aggressive and sensible rugby.

"I was terribly impressed with the way the Crusaders - and they were a young team - came away very strong towards the end."

Mains adds Colin Cooper is very experienced.

pick your side and let the battle commence
come on you know you want to...
