Re:World Team Reply to this message
I know your from canty and all cru, but Ross the best 6 in the world, has he even played 6?? You bloody one eyed cantab's are all the same.

Just looked down and saw you had Wyatt at #1??? This is why we can never let a true cantabrian ever take the reigns as AB coach, only one that has swapped sides and now calls Auck home LOL.

Re:World Team Reply to this message
All Blacks coach Graham Henry has opened the door for Dan Carter to make a return to the black jersey sooner than expected.

Carter is running again after recovering from his Achilles tendon injury and has been named in the Canterbury squad for this season's Air New Zealand Cup.

Henry says Carter will not be named in the Tri Nations squad on Saturday, but if he is right to play for Canterbury, the selectors will have a good look at him.

The domestic showpiece gets underway at the end of the month with the All Blacks final three Tri Nations tests in late August, early September.

Meanwhile Henry will welcome back some much needed experience for the Tri Nations and says Sitiveni Sivivatu will be back in action as soon as this weekend. He says Sivivatu will play club rugby over the next couple of weeks while Rodney So'oialo and Andrew Hore will also be back.

The All Blacks coach is also standing by Joe Rokocoko. The beleaguered winger has struggled for form this year, and scored his first try for two years at international level against Italy last weekend.

But Henry has not lost confidence in Rokocoko, believing a return to form is imminent. He says Rokocoko has proved himself at test level in the past and they just hope he can rediscover his touch.

While the All Blacks are eagerly anticipating the return of some senior players, there has been a bombshell across the Tasman with Lote Tuqiri's Australian Rugby Union contract torn up. The ARU will not reveal the reasons for the decision, and will not confirm or deny that it was because of a protocol or code of conduct breach.

Tuqiri has indicated he will take legal action over the issue.

Henry says the news is a blow to the Wallabies. He says Tuqiri is a fine rugby player and they will miss him.

Tuqiri leaves rugby after 67 Tests for the Wallabies, with his options at age 29 to play rugby overseas, return to rugby league or retire.

Re:World Team Reply to this message
#1 Cro<kett (NZ)
#2 Bismarck Du Plessis (SA)
#3 Adam Jones (WAL)
#4 Victor Matfield (SA)
#5 Brad Thorn (NZ)
#6 Rocky Elsom (AUS)
#7 Heinrich Brussow (SA)
#8 Ryan Jones (WAL)
#9 Fourie Du Preez (SA)
#10 Matt Giteau (AUS)
#11 Drew Mitchell (AUS)
#12 Berrick Barnes (AUS)
#13 Stirling Mortlock (AUS)
#14 Cory Jane (NZ)
#15 Francois Steyn (SA)

Would have chosen Stephen Jones at 10 and Roberts at 12 but went with Giteau and Barnes because of Giteaus try against France, thats the only reason.

Re:World Team Reply to this message
Its always hard selecting a mixed nation team as we all have our obvious bias and generally watch our own team closer than others, but its interesting seeing what other think.

I selected on current form or must have played test footy and still be playing top club stuff as some like Hayman is the best #3 in the world obviously ain't playing test footy. Can't be injured.

1. Jones (haven't got time to check name, but think I'm right. Welsh boyo who gave the beast a tickle up, on current form)
2. Moore
3. Hayman
4. Thorn
5. Matfield
6. Elsom
7. McCaw
8. Rodders (I don't think Rod is the best genuine 8 in the owrld but his partnership with McCaw allows them to own the break down)

9. Du Preez
10. Carter
11. Sivi
12. Giteau
13. Mortlock
14. Habana
15. Mils

lol, this is a bit one eye team. Remember half the NZ players in this team are either injured or don't play international rugby, same with Elson.

Re:World Team Reply to this message
I agree. I have Cedric Heymans in my team. i will never leave Bakkies Botha out. he's the strongman of world rugby. O'Connel is also not far behind Matfield. In my opinion i will play Gito before i play Carter

Re:World Team Reply to this message
Where are the French? You know that team that beat the ABs last month? Id make room for Cedric Heymans somewhere.

di13, your team looks pretty close to something id pick, although my only changes would be Mortlock for O'Driscoll with Habana going on that right wing and Ashley-Cooper on the bench for Hernandez.

Re:World Team Reply to this message
good point but if it is about combos then it will be Matfield and Botha. Habana plays on the left so he will be 11. And the way Genaro Fessia is playing, he's by far the best chaser of a ball. I will put him in my Bokke team anytime.

Re:World Team Reply to this message
Your team is not bad at all. Just an issue at 11 and 6. O'Connor a bit young and Ross not at the top of he's game yet, maybe 2 or 3 years. Other than that not bad. Would still want to see O'Driscall at 13. He's must be the best 13 we saw in the world after Philip Sella (o the good old days) retired :-(
