Now that Mexted has toned down on constantly criticising the ref I think he is one of the best comments man around at the moment.
One thing I've noticed thats crept in over the last couple of years is the amount of times commentators get their player indentification wrong.
One of the more interesting commentary teams I've heard in a long time was Karl Te Nana and someone else ( Mac somebody ? )with a "League style" of commentary. My initial reaction when I heard them was to cringe , but after about 5 or so minutes realised they had a definite knowledge and feel for the game ( something which appears to be lacking in some ) , were informative , and got their player identification spot on. |

| Kearns surely is a tosser. I wouldn't go to his barbie if you paid me. Too many of the Aussie's commentate on a game you're not watching. Surely there can't be that many "world champion" players in their sides. |

Murray was just saying what a lot of supporters feel. He is passionate about the game and was expressing an opinion. To be suspended for that is very wrong.
If you're reading this Murray, get a good lawyer and sue the @r5e off sky for unfair dismissal. |

| If you can commentate for 80-90mins,call the plays and the reasons for fouls ,remember 30 players on the field and interact with your fellow commentators at the same time then your halfway there.The promblem is that MEXTED has the personality of a squahed apricot but he was a handy no.8 and probably has more knowledge of the game than you and I.ID rather liten to Nisbo or the radio commentry with the T.V volume down |

| The trouble with many of the ex player commentators today is the fact that when they played most of the rules were different. Today when commentating they always refer back to those old days; the rucking, the occasional biff and "it was never like this back then". What they need to do is forget the scenes of old, get a grasp of the game today and commentate as such. There are other programmes on tv that tell us about the 'good old days'. There will also always be team bias as well and this at times can make a commentary somewhat unbalanced. |

I'm personally not a big fan of Marto either.Mainly because i don't think he is a good reader of the game.Kearns is ok but again i don't think he reads the game that well either.
Rod Kafer is pretty good and explains things really well.
One thing i hate about the rugby club is the 2 seconds they give to SA and NZ commentators.Sure i'm interested in what Oz is up to but i also want to check out the opposion.They should have a panel with reps from all countries involved.
On the other hand,Grant Fox is incredibly biased but knows his stuff.Murrys pretty cool if u ask me |

Funny how people see things differently- I think Marto is pretty good it's Kearnsie who is a tosser.
I especially love the cheering and manic screaming everytime an Aussie team scores a try.
Anyone remember the Kearns 'orgasm' as the Aussie player broke the line and dotted down?
Ah! Ah! Ah! Ahhhhhhhhhhhhh! Lathaaaaaaammmmmm!
But Mex is an idiot too.
So is that little Welsh bloke with the high pitched voice (think his name is Davies) who bleats on the whole game about how the ABs are cheats.
The Saffer Hugh Bladen is pretty good.
All in all pundits make rubbish commentators. |

| in fairness though, i have to admit the wallaby Glee Club has toned down its obnoxiousness lately... i dont know if thats because someone had a word or that the continued floggings being served up, has had the effect. whatever, it is slightly less offensive this year. |
