Hey dirty- I'm bloody sick of larks being right all the time and making so much sense- so my only trump card is Doanld.
If he comes good I'm buggered! |

Fair enough mate.
But don't get too confident larks- for me to buy your views on Donald you'll need him to play several tests straight without making a ton of ham fisted, brainless howlers (and we all know that'll NEVER happen) |

(no... do you ever get sick of saying players suck and should retire when they make one knock on or have one or 2 average games?)
Heh heh- point taken larks.
But he has been very quiet this year and was a non-entity during the entire Tri nations.
Roks got the ar$e for being the same (and rightly too). |

at this point I'm not defending Rodney, he had an average super14 and has not looked great in any tests he's been involved in
Mils on the other hand was easily NZ's best 15 in the super14 if not the best fullback in the comp altogether. And although he has had a couple average games at times he has shown he still has the goods |

I think Muliaina is on the slippery slope downward- once he along with Howlett and Roks were untouchable but now Howlett is gone, Roks seems to be winding down and Mils is certainly past his best.
Don't you get bored defending all the sub standard players from your neck of the woods larks? |

Mils is still the man, up and down season but he was the best fullback in the enture super14 and he's not far from his best again. his experienced is huge, loved the way he man handled Ashley Cooper after he had ran through 4+ all black tackles.
Those sort of situations you need a guy like mils, as good as Jane is he would have been brushed aside by cooper in that same situation.
He also still brings the ball back hard and always goes forward. And links well with Sivivatu. Ultra reliable and IMO last year he was the best All Black back on the northern tour. And he's not too old to be past his prime come 2011
Rod on the other hand looks tired, lacks the cutting edge that's needed. since he always was a bit small he needed to be so much better in other areas and good is just not good enough anymore. |

| i can sit here on my couch and say how it SHOULD BE DONE. i'm just glad that i don't have to make the decisions on just who is past it and who could still do the job a few more times... maybe thats why they pay these guys so much. |

Yep Rodders is a gone burger, gvt is right, coming off at about the 50 min mark said it all, and looking at him on the bench after coming off I think he knew that as well. Read made quite an impact when he came on.
Mils I think will get some more time. The thing with Mils is there are others in the backline who are breaking the line and scoring the tries. Mils isn't likely to beat his man one on one at the mo, but he makes very few mistakes and as others pointed out really directs the back line from the rear.
I wasn't a huge fan of Janes really but I think he has shown this year that when he is given the chance he is dynamic. He showed last night that he makes things happen when he has the ball in hand, and he would get a lot more chances to make a mark on a game if he was running at his preferred 15. |

| Yes it's time these two went. Rodney was off at the 53min mark and that should have told him something. And Mils looked as if he was just out there to mark time and fill in the numbers. Greats once but time to hang up the boots or seek the easy life in the north or J.apan. |

| i think to keep the abs at the top requires fresh blood and theres a whole heap of talent shining in the U20's. Guys like rodney and sivi, mils (rocks) aint half bad, but they aint hungry any more. |

Agree with Rodney, may have been better to have a Waldrom or someone else??, Rods has been the pound for pound no 8 champ for years but last 12-18 months he seems to have lost his mojo
Mils still steady, thought he prob had one of his better games, need to see Jane more at 15 in big games
I thought Tialata was the biggest waste of space last night |

| jane will succeed mills, kiwibeca i agree with you Mills experience is very important to that backline.I said it before the ABs left that mills has lost a yard of pace,he has to try and run over his man instead of around them.Im a mills fan but to me he is getting past his best which is still better than most international fullbacks around at the moment. |

| Mills is getting to be a bit like Umunga - past his best, but invaluable for his experence. I think that he'll be there or therabouts come the World Cup though. Slade as his 2IC anyone? |
