I'd love for Southland to win, but they've been celebrating all week, so realisticaly I think that it'll be Wellington taking out that one. Can't seee Southland disgracing themselves though.
Canterbury to win the Final too. |

Yes Wellington by 13 the shield hangover factor will hit Southland, Teams always have so so games after winning the shield
The other game is hard to pick I think it depends on which Stephen Brett turns up the one who plays a good intelligent game and kicks the goals or the awful Stephen Brett like in the shield game.
But I am going with HB 1-12 |

| -in last weeks shield game,, it seems as though canterbury got thrashed, hehe, in the context of the game, i thought they gave a great account of themselves with heaps of experience out, 9/3 whatever the score, that reflects the pull of the shield, the desire to win the shield,, its not like they rolled over and played dead to southland, we had that same feeling last year when we thrashed auckland for it ,thought we were bulletproof and got beaten by canterbury in the final, southland will have made it obvious how much they celebrated, but secretly, they would have started plotting their next move,, this time i think we can sneekily pull of a theif job and take it out if elements clik into place and the bounce of the ball gos our ways,, i gotta feeling we can do it this year, alepati leiua to be the secret weapon and piris all blackz skills to the fore |

| -not over confident or anything, but we been to the last three air nz cup finals and lost all three, so we do know how to reach the grand final, we just always fall at the last hurdle, no doubt southland will be full of confidence an will be wanting to carry on the momentum fron the shield win, but i wouldnt under estimate wellington at home, where a different prospect to canterbury, theirs still a sprinkling of some wise heads and exuberant youth, who play super 14 so it will be an interesting game, hosea gear will be wanting to impress, piri weepu won't want to lose at home and i'm banking on wellingtons will to go for a fourth attempt at the title, will the real victor vito please stand up! |
