Opinions are funny things!

Ockon, Tialata, when his mind is on the job, is a damn good scrummaging prop, technically sound and very strong. Just ask the worlds best scrum coach, Mike Cron.

What he has struggled with over the last year or so is his head space and his fitness. Currently he is not playing well and IMO shouldn't be starting a test against anyone.

Tialata is technically the worst of the current AB props. He relies on weight and strength to bring the bacon home and that's why he looks good when if he come on late in the second half against tired props.

Whenever he comes up against an accurate and technically good prop he looks like a palooka, but put him against someone with similar skills he looks good. In Europe he will suffer since they tent do be technical props especially in Fance.

If you can get hold of it watch the game against Hawksbay last year, Toamalolo almost broke his back. He was up against a technically superior and strong prop, same thing when he played against SA this year.

yeah i'm with jhuk, Tialata had an average scrumaging game, as he did last time out against Aussie. technically he is a very good scrumager, but just like tackling its whether you are switched on up stairs, and I don't think he has his head in the game. IMO Afoa is playing better than Tialata in all facets of the game.

I think Afoa could be a devastating loose head, I think it should be Afoa at loose and Franks at tight against the Welsh. Although I know it won't be.

Bro get my sky look at the 6 scrums in the first half..
each time tialata went backwards, Afoa will do the job, but Franks is the best tighthead scrummager in NZ.. I think you need to look at it 3 times are you sure you actually watched this game, we performed pretty average in the scrum fullstop, I aint from Canterbury, hate those sheep shaggers, Im all Southland and Auckland but, you are obviously from Welly, Tialata is a the most average scrummager on tour..
Put the canterbury props on

Tialata is Newlands bearch
He may be Samoan with big legs but he aint no David Tua

jhukui, you're delusional. The scrum was good in the first half. Australia did get a nudge on close to the line at the end of the first half when we dropped one of the loosies off and the other two had their heads up looking for the runners. Otherwise the scrum was good.

I also recall seeing Afoa under pressure at times, including when Read knocked on after Afoa was run over.

tandk12345 if you think Tialata's legs are big just check Afoa's next time he's on. They are rediculiously big and out of proportion with the rest of his body lol

Re:Am I the only1, tialata cant scrum? Reply to this message
IMO it looked like the scrums got a lot worse after Tialata went off, most of NZ's first hald scrums were pretty solid. Was a suprise to me as I always really rated Afoa and have been thinking I would have actually rated him ahead of Tialata.

But honestly the main problems with the AB scrum started when Tialata came off...

I'm with jhuk on this one.

Agree with you about Palu dac, the best aussie forward on the paddock by a mile, he just shows the value of a big no8

i agree with tank. scrum looked good and solid when tialata was on. on our feed we did well, on an aussie feed they always seemed to "collapse" when the pressure came on, hence the ref catching on and penalising them.

when afoa came on i think the aussies held their own but then again, eaton was on and i think the power from the 2nd row wasnt as much as thorn and donnelly together.

but then the super coach dingo took off palu who was the go forward man in the aussie pack ... hmmmmmmmmmmm dingo aye? lol

dachiropractorl7 out ...

You are the only one.

Scrum was good with Tialata on. Look at his legs. No one in world rugby has legs that big.

Afoa got blown away at one stage and Read knocked on.

Surprised more havnt slated him, imo it was the biggest negative of our game our Tighthead getting screwed almost every scrum, Afoa was better, but franks has scrummed best tighthead this year,

would love to see franks and Cro(kett start together, surley Woody will need one rest game

Doest Cro(ket not cover tighthead at all
