You people really do fail to grasp where I'm coming from don't you?
I respect your opinions, I do, My intention is not to wind you lot up, I just see things from a different perspective to what you do, If we (All Blacks) had have won the RWC in 2003, we would have still maintained our excellent winning percentage as well as being Rugby World Champion, we're not the English that's what I'm saying, we wouldn't have lost most of our games like they did, they are a farce just because their england anyways
I just dislike the nonchalant attitude of people who claim the RWC is insignificant compared to a rankings system and it's only a party that comes around every four years, if your heart and soul is not tuned in to winning the most significant trophy in rugby union, The RWC, why are we supporting them? just to be ranked number one every year?
hardly, RWC is what it's all about IMHO, OK ..AND....
The Number one rankings system as well I suppose
Their you go, I can agree with you guys, don't be so harsh
(-: (-: PUT A SMILE ON YOUR DIAL CHAPS:-) :-)
Just one persons view. |

When England held the RWC and lost most of their games the following 3 years the title Rugby World Cup holders became a farce. Even their own sports commentators and journos were smart enough to avoid labelling them the best team in the world. If i remember correctly, this was the time Henry began his dream run on the Internationals scene, the ABs were the team everyone wanted to beat, why do you think that is Az? and no prizes for guessing which team carried the "Best Team in the World" tag...heres a hint: It wasn't the RWC holders.
Now, as others have said the second part of this arguement is in relation to the Boks. They are the best team in the world currently not ONLY because they hold the world cup, but because they have the winning stats AND rankings to back it up.
If you feel your head is spinning from not being able to comprehend the concept of what it takes to be labelled the "best in the world", read the first part again or take some panadol and take a nap. |

Re: im_dumb_az
You appear to be fixated on the World Cup as the be-all and end-all of world rugby. It ain't.
If the Argies won the World Cup, I'd be happy to acknowledge them as World Cup holders, but that doesn't make them the best in the world. Being #1 in the rankings does. Being #1 in the rankings PLUS having the World Cup, to my mind, does make a team the best in the world, and I'm happy to acknowledge the Boks as the best in the world. For now. :-)
Now, when we win the World Cup again (some might say "if", but I don't), and we retake the #1 spot in the rankings, then we will be the best in the world again. The rankings are the most important part, the World Cup is the cherry on the top. |

(Yeah, If argentina won the last RWC I would proclaim them the best in the World because they won the RWC which rightfully makes them the best team in the world, regardless of their stats prior to, or after.)
Keep making statements like this and I'll start thinking you brains are in your az.
I mean- for Christs sake mate- read it back to yourself. |

"winning on a regular basis is better than coming to the party once every four years"
....Oh yeah, the excuse makers attitude.
...so this party that comes around once every four years with the most significant trophy in rugby union means
nothing to you?
.....just a party right?....soft attitude, no wonder why we can't win the darn thing. so called fans would rather live on being number one, then actually being world champion. pathetic. |

My point is, why worry about england, argentina or africa, I'm talking about the all blacks, not anyone else, temporary place holder,
Blah Blah, excuses ecxuses. |

I don't see how the Wallabies coaching has anything to do with Canterbury, Deans is contracted by the ARU, not NZRU.
All Blacks success since Christchurch born Henry was put in place, alongside fellow Cantabrians Hansen and Smith,
Comes down to the fact that their coached by three Cantabrians. |

"Henry was a turncoat for coaching the Auks."
Lol, bit harsh there. Remember where Henry began and mastered his trade, in Auckland coaching the young atheletes of Auckland Grammer in the early 70's and then later on to Kelston Boys in the 80's. All this before he even started on the provicial track and later on to the National stage. As far as Coaching is concerned he doesnt owe Canturbury anything except to mention with teary eye he was once a wicket keeper down there lol...
That aside, he is our National coach. He would be the first to laugh off any mention of provincial loyalty in the face of the task he has been given. As would any other AB coach past and present.
The rest is history with the fatcats from England (IRB) spoiling the party for their own interests. |

"hansen, henry, smith, all blacks success comes down to the fact that their coached by cantabrians."
Cantabrians who have realised that for the good of the national side they have to leave provincial loyalties in the past.
Yes, when Auckward, oops, Auckland are playing Canterbury, I'll be cheering Canty all the way (and they usually go all the way, too), but once the provincial matches are over and we're looking at the ABs, it's time to leave provincial loyalties behind. You have to pick the best players in the positions (except when you're picking a working combination which may not have the best individuals, but between them make a stronger team).
Henry was a turncoat for coaching the Auks. Now he's the AB coach, not the Auk coach, so it's time to put those knives away, not sharpen them. Get behind the boys to win in the NH. Hell, you may even get behind the Aussies to win in the NH- after all, the NH _IS_ the enemy of all we hold dear. :-) |

".......Nah, No amount of statistics you guys bring up will convince me of the all blacks being the best."
So by your accounts holding the RWC means that team is the best in world rugby? What if Argentina won the last RWC?
Would you hold them in such high regard proclaiming them to be the best in the world? Or would you put it down to being an empty gesture? A stroke of favourable circumstances perhaps...
That said, the RWC is in good hands with Boks. They have at least managed to live up to their status giving the rwc some much needed meaning. The point is to hold the cup is one thing, but without the stats to back it up after...well then you just become like England and seen as a temporary placeholder. |

Cantabrians they maybe, but with the exception of Hansen (who by the way is looking the third wheel atm), they play a brand of rugby more synonymous with the Northern teams...like Auckland....could that be why the most vocal of the anti Henry brigade seem to be from the south? |

Why Should I dislike him?
He is Christchurch born after all, Only the best coaches come from Christchurch
All Blacks success comes down to the fact that their coached by three Cantabrians. |

(its controlled by the IRB and there a bunch of cheating snakes....)
I agree 100% on that one axe.
The IRB are little more than a northern old boys club manipulating the rules and referees to favour the weak home nations.
Look how they crushed the Stellenbosch(sp) laws when it was obvious the northern teams wouldn't cope with the increased pace of the game.
Corrupt bunch of old farts- why should the southern hemisphere have to endure the rulings of inferior northern rugby nations?
Oh yeah and keeping on topic- Deans is a pitiful joke! |

| SA did not back up their 2007 WC win, they lost their next game against the AB's which was a game many looked at as the one to sort out the real world Champs, they clawed one back against a seriously weakened side and then got disgrased 19 - 0 at home. |
