| the welsh were hopeless reminded me of the poms they didn't know what to do with the ball in hand. Here's a reminder its called scoring tries (watch a replay of the french game then you will get the idea simple really). the worst thing that could happen to NH teams is reducing penalties to one point then they would never win oh I'll add the saffers to that. |

I don't know if neil means to be as bloody funny as he is.
And I agree with renee- many amatuer era ABs being just as great now as they were then if they had access to the modern techniques and training.
If Foxy was 21 today, hed be around 12 kilos heavier, faster, stronger, a better defender but still have that uncanny and unteachable ability to direct a game brilliantly, kick perfectly and tactically outkick the hell out of anyone nowdays (Morning Stain for example).
And Jones is the number one flanker who ever played so far- paua is right, he could read a game like no other.
Hope that wasn't too emotional for you anchorman (I am fighting back the tears though). |

| I think you illustrated my point about the constructive memory syndrome perfectly i don't remember ever seeing Michael Jones playing in half those positions you suggested he could have played in. i'm assuming you only brought that up because you think he would have done been better than the player that he would have replaced in the AB's seems to be some fuzzy memory there me thinks ... I say Richies better because the Am All Blacks were light years ahead of the rest of the world and most of the other teams were scared of them so it would be much easier to be a standout (not trying to take anything away from Jones he is an awesome player) where as now ever one just wants a piece every one is out trying to put the hurt on and the aggressiveness that was almost exclusive to the abs is being shared by the rest of the world and other teams have become more competitive yet somehow Mccaw is always a stand out |

McCaw is an amazing player, incredible to watch and he has fantastic skills... I am enjoying his career evolve in a circle and see him return to number 8 where his rugby stardom started at school...
he is a great ad we are very lucky to witness him as a rugby public... I love him as a captain, and hope like hell he lifts the cup in 2011 in Auckland...
all I am saying is that Jones is better from my perspective...
