it's true the reason the All Blacks finally cut lose and scored tries was because they were up against a team that was not playing negative rugby.
Though part of the reason the french were not kicking it as much will have been because the All Black counter attack was starting to show real signs of danger against england. And behold the french got punished by feeding the All Black back 3 when they did. |

What do you expect when you post the dribble that you were posting last week.
The difference between the games you mentioned though was not that the AB's played a different style, but that they were playing against a team that wanted to run the ball as well.
Notice there were bug,ger all ruck and maul penalties in todays test.
The Eng, Welsh etc always have a negative game plan against us as they can't keep up if they try and play running rugby, just like the French found out again today.
The Eng and Welsh are always looking at damage control 1st and foremost rather than actually winning the game. |

| Gentle people, Fair suck of the sav and all that, I put up, and could have shut up. Happy to see the AB's win. About time they played the game the way it should be played. It was the best game of footie I have seen for a while. I still stand by my 'initial comment'. Had the AB's played the way they did against Wales, the Eyeties and the Poms, they would have had the rses kicked. Well, Yes and No burns!!!
I watch rugby now because firstly, I found it a great game to play, and secondly because it is an exciting game to watch. If the game is not played as a "spectacle" as well as a "contest", then you may as well just watch soccer.
I don't mind the occasional game where the cost is high, but if we were dished up the dour rugby exhibited by some quarters of the rugby fraternity in lands far, far away from here, Win or Lose, I would honestly stop watching. |
