just as well en-ger-land dumped that crap manager sven who wasted the "golden generation" and replaced him with good ol englishman mcclaren who understood the english game and how to play fast exciting football by kicking the ball really long and chasing it all the time.

yes, football in england IS hard & exciting....
BUT that doesn't mean its always quality or good enough to win world cups or euros. what is quality football and what is great entertainment are 2 different things.

| Rubbish, he didn't understand the english game. Football in England is exciting due to the fact the players are allowed to tackle and be a little bit more physical than there european counterparts. When it comes to internationals the slightest tap on european teams they fall over and claim a foul. Thats why they never do any good because they dont try and fall over. You have just confirmed in your last message who you really are. It's Nancy isn't it trying stick up for Sven again. Lay off love it's over. |

| ps svens tactics were right on the money for internationals. he got them to slow it down and try to play proper football instead of just pumping it long every time which breeds the kind of inconsistent results you get under english managers like robson and mcclaren. you cant play internationals like the premier league, it just wont work. look at brazil and italy. its just that english players arent as skilled as the italians and brazilians, for example. |

Think you will find the best record was Bobby Robson. But anyway, Sven didn't get best out of his players. He was too defensive and nobody wanted to be creative caus his tactics didn't dictate properly with the English game.
By the way, looks like the Man city bubble burst yesterday. |

took the team as far as they could go.
best record of england manager since 66.
look at mcclaren. might not even qualify them for euro with the same squad......lol!
now taking man city to the top with all the foreign players cos they are cheaper and better than english players like the ones at Derby and Sunderland....lol

| Terry Venables and Bobby Robson for starters. If the media hadn't hounded them out of a job they would possibly have gone on to win a major tournament. As for reason Sven bought foreign was because they are cheaper than buying a decent tried and trusted English player. |

Yes they are overpaid. Dont agree that all best ones are foreign though. Rooney, Gerrard, Lampard, Ferdinand. Some of the best players in the world. As a team collective they just cant play together though. Which is the job of the manager to find a system where they can. So on that basis I still make the announcement of Sven is crap.
P.S congrats to all whites on thier 152nd world ranking. |
