For a striker to score a goal a game would be a phenomenal goal record. You see, to get a goal the ball must pass between the posts and under the crossbar with a goalkeeper trying to stop it. In rugby, you only have to get the ball across a 50m line. How hard can that be?
Ryan Nelsen is on at least NZ$100,000 per week and he is nowhere near the best player in the EPL. What does a superstar (in their own mind) all blank get a week? hahahaha
The all blanks and rugby are only world famous in NZ. So what if NZ football isn't great? It is harder to make your mark in a global game than in a game played by only a few countries as the all blanks have done. Big deal!
Their achievements (or lack of) mean nothing in world sport, because the world doesn't give a hoot about rugby. It's not a global game. If NZ can win an Olympic medal in swimming or athletics that is far more important. I know you are dim-witted, but don't you understand yet do you?
The All Whites have had a 2-2 draw with Wales and Giggs and Bellamy both played. Also a win in Georgia last year or 2006.
You are a sad case daquack. Getting all worked up over some obscure sport that's only world famous in NZ. Make the switch and get into the real world. |

Sure, in UK & Aussie they are aware that NZ has sheep and all blanks. Try a few other countries. The ones I have made enquiries in, they don't even know NZ, think rugby is gridiron, but most can name the Man Utd squad, or the Dutch squad, or the England squad, or the Real Madrid squad etc. Mention a 'famous' ( world famous in NZ ) all blank and I get a blank stare.
And that shows the huge gulf. One ( football) is a global sport, the other is only world famous in NZ and taken seriously by a handful of countries.
Unlike you, I have a job to go to.
Skill is synonymous with football. That's one reason why top footballers get salaries that can't compare with top rugby players. Any idiot can catch a ball and run. |

I watched a game of rugby. Here's how I saw it....... pass backwards, pass backwards, pass backwards,(yaaaawn), get tackled, fall over, get jumped on by team-mates, lots of overweight neanderthals fall on top . Kick ball out, all 16 spectators clap, lineout takes forever, pass backwards, pass backwards, pass backwards,get tackled, fall over, scrum grown men fondling each other and doing disgusting acts, get up with a sore ar.s.e. Resart, pass backwards, pass backwards (yaaaawn), pass backwards, pass backwards, whistle blows, Full time. Absolutely exhilarating!! (sarcasm). After that, i watched a game of football. Here's how I saw it..... skill, pass,skill! run, pass,skill!,get tackled, skill!, unbelievable skill, keep running, pass, more skill,(I'm on the edge of my seat) chip ahead, brilliant shot, GOAL!! High Fives from the rest of the team. Restart, more skill, passing forward and back if necessary, no overweight neanderthals in sight! 1-0..................... .... I could go on, but there's a 2000 word limit. Anyway, we all get the picture. Good luck with your 'rugby is better than football' argument. The world doesn't agree and that's why rugby is only world famous in NZ hahahahaha

soccer is popular because the vast majority of the planet is poor. Not just poor but dirt poor. So poor that clothes are considered a luxury. About half the planet lives this way so it comes to pass that the most cherished form of social recreation is the one needing the least amount of upkeep maintenance and investment. Soccer is the only sport in the world that needs next to nothing to play. All you need is a ball and in some cases not even that. Where a ball is not available use what is handy like a sheep bladder or a dog skull or some rags wrapped together so long as it can roll. And you can play it anywhere. In dirt grass gravel any place where there is a flat surface and hell it is not really mandatory that the surface be completely flat. People will make do with just about any locale. That makes it the most universal sport accessible to every class caste and social status on the planet

That's top money in the rugby 'world' ( a handful of countries) but peanuts for Football. Even Beckham, past his prime, is on $1 million a week.
There is so much skill in football. Like I said, no skill in rugby and most of those neanderthals couldn't kick a ball properly to save themselves.
I realise football is global but it is possible that it is so popular that it could be intergalactical. Meanwhile rugby is still only popular in a handful of countries. And 'world famous' in NZ.
Where were the crowds at the Air NZ cup games? I've seen more people watching the 10 year olds playing football! haha You lot keep telling me it's our national game!! hahaha |

Soccer is so stupid everyone can learn it. if you were sent to a foreign planet with instructions to teach the aliens one earth game without knowing anything about their language customs and culture the one game you could teach them is soccer. just think how far you would get trying to explain rugby rules to foreigners who dont understand your language. soccer doesnt have this problem. it is the one sport that transcends language culture race and intelligence.

Soccer is popular because only untalented people play it. the vast majority of the planet is (comparatively) untalented.
It takes basically no time to learn and less time to enjoy playing it. its easily understood by everyone. its so simple you can explain it to a retard while u stand on one foot.
all u have to do is not use ur hands.anyone can learn and understand that.that makes it perfect for the most uncoordinated and unathletic people in the world.
Many sports require a certain level of coordiantion and an innate set of complex skills that need to be applied to enjoy them at an optimum level like hitting a small flying ball, skating, throwing, tackling and catching.
but anyone can kick a ball.
soccer is the one sport in the world that requires the lowest level of physical commitment to enjoy it on a personal level. |

wharfie really loves rugby !!!! lol its all good - hes very passionate about the all blacks cos thats why he raves on about them!! hehe wharfie has accepted the fact that rugby rules here by far!!! hehe
as for the all whites - i think that wharfie is still living in 1982 - cos thats all we can talk about - 1982 , yet we didnt win anything other than admiring fans ....
