""Rugby is what makes us Kiwis"" ?????????? Huh????
That sport was invented in England!!
There are more empty seats than full ones at the national rugby competition!!
More children play football than rugby in NZ!
Some schools don't even have a First XV because they can't find 15 students to play!
""Most of those country's you mentioned have a human rights record second to none ..." Can't see any relevance as so many countries play football, all kinds of claims can be made about these countries. Just stay in your own little insignificant world where a handfull of neanderthals talk about the all blanks and whatever else. Yawn.
Green eyed and jealous, rugby will NEVER have the popularity of football. Full stop. end of story!

I care. That is why I don't care about soccer.Rugby is what makes us Kiwis. That is the difference. But I have been "soccered" in to your webb. It is obvious I suffer from too much rugby inbreeding.I actually like the poms after all they invented the game of Rugby but unlike you I'm a NZer and I'm proud of my little pool. That is the difference and sadly you don't know it and if we have to explain it...Anyway I see your name is notorious on other threads so just chalk me up as another esay victim. Most of those country's you mentioned have a human rights record second to none probably from the brain damage caused by heading the ball. At least rugby is one step up on the evolutionary path where man gets to use all his limbs and not has his hands fiddling in his pockets or dragging on the ground and players don't rush into the face of the ref and demand he step back into the shower with him after the game...ah there I go again, I have too many sprig marks on my old body...What was the thread of this story and how did you get into this one?

Another assumption! Another profiler gets it wrong!! I am not English, nor do I support the English football team.
Why support a team that plays a sport that most of the world don't care about. For me I would rather be a little fish in a big ocean than a huge fish in a shrinking puddle. That, to me, is a no brainer. Every country in the world knows football, but some countries like Germany, Brasil, Indonesia, Spain, Holland, Russia, India, Nigeria and most of Africa etc etc have no interest whatsoever in rugby.
Compete on the world stage or don't bother at all. Who cares if you are ranked third in the "world" but only a handful of countries play the game??

wharfie72 I can smell your pommy breathe a mile away. I'm a NZer not a johnny come lately. Who wants to support English led soccer in NZ? Everytime you hear an administrator he's a Pom. Would you as a "NZer" rather support a 4th rate international team or at least an always in the top 3 in the world? It's a no brainer, that is what makes us Kiwis and why you will never become one no matter your skin colour or how long you and your family have been here or tried to integrate in this country. It's the only sport that tries to bring us all together and if it wasn't for lack of men teachers in primary schools soccer wouldn't even be played in my country.Take your British bred working class attiude back home and go back to your soccer blog and talk to yourself.

Football is the worlds most popular sport so what has that got to do with the worlds most pathetic sport ( ie rugby ), and that miserable bunch of losers called the 'all blanks' ??? Comparing the glamour of Euro '08 to the tri-nations, or whatever its called, is like comparing the latest Ferrari to a broken down pram with a broken axle and a wheel missing.

kick all-comers lose a few games but still remain the team to beat. (That's number one where it really counts IRB rankings and to the NZ rigby public regardless)

Regardless of which coaching camp you are in (I personally support Deans), there are going to be some interesting strategic decisions to be made. Will either coach persist with conditioning/rotation, to what extent will experts be bought in to help and how many deputy coaches will they have? I personally believe that 3 coaches is too many espescially when there are scrum experts etc. coming in. I think one of the most interesting questions will be who plays at 2nd five. It is really up for graps. I would give Ma'a Nonu a slight edge over Brett but they are both contrasting players so it could be a horses for courses approach.
