""Wharfie - Despise whoever you like, but would you be putting the boot in on Chelsea, or even Real if they'd won?"" .................. YES!!!!
If SAF had any sense he would have taken Van Der Sar years before he eventually took him from Fulham. That late decision cost you dear as you put up with several very poor keepers between Schmeichel & VDS.
I am no Chelsea fan. I also loathe Real Madrid and AC Milan as well ( forgot to mention them before). I hate to see these clubs buy success. How many came through the man utd youth scheme? Only two or three. They just poach other poorer clubs top youth. ie they buy success.
All the stuff about who could have won means little. It was a close game as expected. Could have gone either way.
Well, how many penalties did you get at Old Trafford? With that cheating ronaldo diving all over the box, I'd say you got quite a few. Sure Van Der Sar made a good save but Terry missed the target completely with VDS going the wrong way.
You would only laugh if I told you my team. |

Wharfie - Despise whoever you like, but would you be putting the boot in on Chelsea, or even Real if they'd won? Didn't think so.
It's true Utd should've had the game won by half time. Chelsea hit the woodwork but spooned the only other 3 or 4 shots they had from about 20yds - Carrick forced Cech to save well twice and Tevez narrowly missed from close range, so even then it was Utd's on close chances alone.
On the penalties, you should get your facts straight. How many did we get at Old Trafford this year? Bugger all. As for the shootout, Ronaldo's miss wasn't lucky for Chelsea then? Top Scorer in the league and a regular penalty-taker? Van Der Sar still made a class save, and that's what won it for us, and he cost Utd so little any major club could've bought him.
We won. And we love it when the bitters complain.
UNITED! UNITED! UNITED! |

| Although I was pleased that man U won the game, I must agree with wharfie72. There are 4 teams in contention for the EPL. Why? Money. If you do not have an owner with a large chequebook, you can forget title aspirations and settle for fighting for 5th position and a place in Europe. |

Wrong! I am NOT a chelsea fan. There are three teams in Europe I despise; man utd, chelsea and real madrid.
58% of the play but chelsea hit the woodwork twice and that chelsea skipper slipped when he took, what could have been the winning penalty. How many penalties do man utd concede at home? Ref's are too scared of SAF and the man utd fans. Like chelsea, they buy their success. Nice if you have the cash. |

| 58 per cent of the play, dont think thats lucky. Sounds like your one of them long term Chelski supporters who came out of the woodwork 5 years ago when Abramovich started flashing the cash. Man U should have been 3 1 up at half time so good result all round. |

| They will then go on further to beat Liverpool in the final to the tune of 2 - 0. Gerrard will then realise he will never win anything again at Anfield and defect to Old Trafford. Where he will be surplus to requirements as we have the best midfield in the world anyway. Come on you red devils |

| Unfortunately he made a brief come back and got injured again. Decided to retire. It's a big shame but scored some vital goals for us. |

| Another good result. Wednesday game not quite so good but it didn't matter as already top of group and through. Also on the plus side Scholes should be back in full training in six weeks according to website. |

| I'm sure Simpson will get better with more game time in the top flight like Pique. Fergie rates Simpson highly so I'm sure we will be seeing more of him. |

| Simpson, couldn't remember his name but watched last europe match and thought with a bit more experience lokks a good prospect. Pique been on fringes for quite a while now and looks able enough to step in if Ferdinand or Vidic injured. Things looking very rosy at the mo. |

| Is the young lad you are referring to Simpson or Pique? Pique is very good and will be a fine defender once he matures, he's only 20. Hopefully Neville won't be too far away from returning, I think he had a hit out with the reserves last weekend. |

| Anyone know how far Gary Neville is away from full fitness? Have been impressed with some of Browns contributions and the young lad in European but final ball into box not quite up to Nevilles standard. |

But you would find Fletcher is a away different player to any of those midfielders he is cross between Hargreaves and Carrick - Carrick plays more central which wider balls and long balls when Hargreaves plays in front of defence with more direct passes, when Fletcher plays more of a shorter passing game but is a lot more agressive in defence and is very fast then his counter parts (not saying Owen and mike arnt quick :-P ) . I believe he can add a lot of value to the Team when playing teams with bigger midfeild pattern like some of the German teams etc..
Plus you can play him on wings or Attaching Midfielder, its just like saying O'Shea brings no value to the team cause he isn't playing week in week out and does not have set place in the team, when i would rate him as one hard working players in team |

| Just dont rate him as a player. Not when you have Scholes, Carrick and Hargreaves in the squad. Also now Anderson. He works hard but his skill level is just not has high. |

| Dont know what football you have been watch about Darren Fletcher, there are over a dozen games he has played well... look at Scotland and they are top of table over france anf Italy, fletcher no both matches got player of the day, against arsenal close of last season player of the day and through out last season won 5 player of the days in the prem alone. |

| Too right, fingers crossed. With all the injuries in midfield its not good when they have to put Fletcher in there. He's a waste of a good kidney, can only remember him ever having one good game for Man U. |
