johnniedavey the second,

Are you on a personal mission to try and discredit anything I mention or share thoughts about your beloved england? Dont tell me you're not english because judging by all your comments, you are pretty slack at disguising such hidden secrets.

Of course scoring goals in the A-League is not the same as scoring a goal in the epl or any tournament in europe, thats something you should automatically know and keep to yourself instead of trying to defend anything I mention or state about the current english game. I suggest you have a cup of coffee and go outside for some fresh air devout english rose.

Robbie Fowler - who is that guy again? Oh the one thats struggling in the A-League. I didnt realise he was still alive.

Rooney carrying an injury and still played? Well that was stupidity by your then coach (Mr loverboy erikson) and definitely signs of desperation by the english if you tell me.

The All Whites are marching to the football world cup 2010. Note it down englishman.

scaryface,

Why don't you just admit to everyone that you are a fake? You know nothing about football. Scoring goals in the Australian league is not the same as scoring goals in a top European league ie in England, Germany, Italy or Spain. That is why players that are no longer good enough to play in England (ie Robbie Fowler, the one you have trouble with his name... are you really that thick?) go and play in Australia.

As for Rooney, again I will explain to you as you seem to be clueless on all matters relating to football, Rooney was carrying an injury during the last World Cup and should have never played. But as you can see from the list of some of his awards that I listed, he hasn't done badly for himself even though according to you he is not much of a player.

The real reason you mentioned the English rose is, as usual, you just don't have a clue what you are talking about. And yes I do notice how you spell English, as your postings are full of mistakes, there is nothing new there.

So put on your Jack Boots and keep up your far right hatered of the English, I'm sure they don't like you much either.

johnjohn,

There is no need for hostility in here. I see that you get sensitive whenever I mention the good old english. One day I believe you will understand me and my views on football especially in regards to nz football.

Of course the english team are not the english rose. How can they when they are dead in the eyes of the football world. What I eluded to there was the mere fact that no one respects the english football team - hence the reference to the english rose. Notice how i spell the word 'english' with small caps.

You talk about Shane Smeltz and his limitations in his english stint. Well first of all, how can you expect players to improve their skill set over there? Secondly, players go over for the money. Last but not least, look at Shanes's total goals this season (you could also include last season as well).

Then you got that ex pommy player who plays for north queensland. Whats his name again? Yeah I suppose no one knows.

As for the paragraph for wayne spoilt brat rooney, did you forget to mention his failed tilt at the 2006 world cup? I guess so - trust you to forget yes?

Take it easy john john, you might pull a muscle there.

Re:How can we save football in NZ ? Reply to this message
scaryface,

English rose? You do know we are talking about football and not rugby? The English football team are known as the Lions or the Three Lions. I now can see why you are so confused!!!

I'm glad to see it has finally got through to you that Shane Smeltz doesn't qualify to play for England. Yes you're right, Shane could be involved in the English set-up... I hear that they're looking for someone to clean their boots!!!

With no disrespect to Smeltz, how do you expect someone with his track record in England to play for the national team? I will remind you again as you appear to be very very thick, as recent as 2006-07, his last season in England, he scored an incredible 2 goals in 31 league appearances for a club that finished 108th. Now I know you have trouble understanding simple things like this, but that is simply not good enough to play for England.

Wayne Rooney on the other hand, what a hopeless player! Twice winner of the PFA Young Player of the Year, selected member for PFA Team of the Year and Euro 2004 Team of the Tournament, winner of FIFA Club World Cup Golden Ball Award, winner of World Young Player of the Year, winner of England Player of the Year etc etc. Are you sure your far right hatred of all things English has not clouded your vision?

I know from your comments to me and others on these boards, that you have very little knowledge, next to nothing in fact, on football. But keep your stupid comments coming, we like a good laugh!!!

Being a rugby supporter and wary of our 'football' results the best thing that can save the game here is more results like the Wellington Phoenix achieved against Gold Coast. I watched some of this match and it was very good.

Also would like to add that of course Shane Smeltz doesnt qualify for england - who would want to anyway?

C.Ronaldo would walk easily into the english team - even with one leg.

oh Ryan Nelson - if it was permitted would probably captain england!

Re:How can we save football in NZ ? Reply to this message
Shane Smeltz will walk into the english setup easily. How can you say he cant when all those millionaires playing for the english rose fail at every world cup since 1966?

I know it is hard for you to swallow, but looking at guys like Ryan Nelson, who walked into Blackburn and captained them shows me and many others that anyone can walk into an english club, play well and enjoy superstar status.

Shane Smeltz - if given a chance will probably walk all over wayne rooney, who to me is nothing more than a spoilt english player who will probably end up like Goerge best.

Meanwhile, when the All Whites make it, I bet you englishmen will claim that Bahrain got stagefright, something the english are well use to ever since 1966.

Re:How can we save football in NZ ? Reply to this message
scaryface,

you are still showing us that you know nothing about football. How do you expect Shane Smeltz to walk into the England (forgetting the fact that he doesn't qualify) team, when in his last season in English football he could only manage to score 2 goals in 31 league appearances for a club who finished 108th? Do you live in your own little fantasy world? You don't have to be a fan of English football to know this just would not happen, just try thinking before you write such stupid comments. And as for Tim Cahill, he played for Samoa at Under 17 level so he was able to play for Australia at Full level. Shane already plays for NZ at Full level. A different situation altogether. So no you are not convincing anyone but yourself. It's alright to say that you are NZ's no.1 fan, but it would help if you actually know what you are talking about.

One should check the facts before diving in and making oneself look foolish.
NZ has beaten Georgia 3-1 in Europe a few years ago. Also had a 2-2 draw with Wales in Wales ( Ryan Giggs final match for his country) , and drawn with Scotland.
Football is global so of course little old NZ will struggle....but at least they could be in a TRUE World Cup. That is something the all blacks will never experience!

Only hope for soccer in nz is not to qualify for world cup. The worst team in Europe ie Luxembourg would thump 7 goals past nz.

Who are those idiots???
I am Wharfie72 and have no idea who those two retards are.
I am hoping that the All Whites play well and take their chances and DO NOT GIVE AWAY SOFT GOALS in the big game in Bahrain.
Many years ago, NZ were undone by some bizzare ref decisions when playing a crucial game v a Middle East team. Hopefully the ref will be fair and unbiased and not be intimidated by the intimidating home crowd.

Dear Dachiropractorl7
After witnessing one of the great KO's in NZ's boxing history, I thought i would post up a thread that would cater for those that cant afford counselling and need some therapy sessions for their troubles after watching their hero get a brutal beating. Ask me anything you want, i will post on a casual basis.

MY NAME IS DR DICTAKER17.

I strongly apologise for some of my multiple personalities, you may know them by many of names.

Gee I wonder why the warriors never win anything, might be just coz they suck at playing a gay minority sport that less than a hand full of countries take seriously and even not one of these countries has it as its main sport so I guess your just a minority yourself in probably more than one way, grunt once if I'm right and twice if I'm wrong ha ha.

Soccer to me is a game of technical ability and skillmanship. I am a new fan to this game as I used to think it was a boring game to watch, however, after watching Arsnal play against Celtic in their first two legs I am now an Arsnal supporter.
