just sit back and watch rugby and league self destrut, with losing, piss-up scandals continually happening plus having no depth because everyone wants to be paid big money in euro dollars while our football team is 1 game away from the World Cup Finals it's kind of inevitable especially our national rugby and league teams being taken away from the people by sky television, good-bye all blacks and warriors and ha ha.

Re:How can we save football in NZ ? Reply to this message
Good evening to you all my fellow nz sports fans. I see that since being away for a couple of days it has been a bit hostile in this great football thread of ours. I also see that when I post up a comment, I am followed around by a similar id which I find quite amusing.

Are the responses to my posts an indication that the message of unity is reaching those that matters the most - the fans?

If it has then I give myself a pat on the back. Well done to me purely because no one else shows passion and commitment the way I do.

As for me being the real Scarface_weka - what else do I have to do to prove myself. I do not want to belittle people by providing evidence, because if that is the intention, then I'm afraid it achieves nothing. I notice that there are id;s such as scareyface_weka, scarface_weta and the like. Am I that popular? If I am I am really humbled.

Other than that, hard luck to the phoenix and well done to wellington olympic.

Have a great week nz football fans.

Oh my. It is interesting that you think otherwise 20/18tofrance. You mentioned before that you prefer rugby over football yet you show no passion for chosen sport but instead you concentrate all your energy on me and my informative posts.

NZ football is my passion. Is that hard to understand or do you want me to say that I support Manchester United or Liverpool? Sorry but enlgish football is not my cup of tea.

Yes Shane Smeltz will definitely walk into the english football team. Easy just like that. Now I dont know about you but I was pulling your leg when I mentioned shane smeltz for england. Of course he can only play for one country. Tim Cahill who plays for this average team in England , almost didnt get to play for australia becaue he represented a different nation when he was younger.

But that doesnt convince you either does it?

Now, we were we, oh thats right, I am nz footballs number one fan. N doubt about it.

Have a great weekend nz sports fans.

Re:How can we save football in NZ ? Reply to this message
scary,

Why do I think that you know nothing about football? It's because you make no sense at all! The only thing that you are good at is telling everyone how great you are and that you are NZ's number 1 fan!

And I know you have trouble understanding basic things, but it is possible for someone like me to like more that one sport. Yes I like football and rugby union, along with rugby league, cricket, athletics, motor racing etc etc. Nothing unusual about that, unless on planet scary this is forbidden!

And let me explain something else to you, to play for England you need to be born there and/or hold a British passport. Also you are unable to play for England if you have already played for another national team. This rules out Shane Smeltz.

Also Shane had a spell playing in England. He played for Football League side Mansfield Town but only made five league appearances (four of these as sub). His most successful season (goal wise) was with AFC Wimbledon. At the time AFC Wimbledon was playing in the Isthmian League Premier Division, which they finished fourth. Now I know you say that you know about football, so if you do, then you will know that this means that 167 clubs finished higher than AFC Wimbledon. Hardly the standard of football to get selected to play for England.

The next season, Shane played for Halifax Town in a higher league (but still 107 clubs finished higher than them). He scored twice in 31 league appearances. Still not good enough to play for England. He is doing well where he is. Leave him alone.

You'll be glad to know, this is my last post. Keep saying that you are the No.1 fan and someday someone somewhere may even believe it!

Re:How can we save football in NZ ? Reply to this message
Good morning to the english and yes congrats on the win against the all powerful croatians.

I didnt know that it bothered you so much that I picked the croatians to beat your team. I see you must have been itching to get onto the computer once the game was over.

But like I said before, congrats.

See? that didnt sting now did it? I guess with all the built up passion you had to let out sometime yes? Well done.

Now November 14 the all whites will be playing their home game in the capital against Bahrain. Will be a sell out for sure.

Why do you think that I know nothing about football? Is it because I make sense and that is one thing you cant handle? Or is it because you pretend to be a rugby fan but you just cant disguise your true feelings for the all whites.

Thats ok though, I too enjoyed the all whites win.

The english - no they havent won anything yet. Qualify all they want, doesnt mean they will be holding up the main prize come South Africa 2010.

And only your countrymen knows what its like failing at football world cups, 43 years worth.

I think Shane Smeltz would be picked in the english squad right now.

Have a great weekend fellow nz football fans.
