I read this thread with sadness. It is really sad that yahoo/xtra allow such pests (from england of course) to ruin such an informative and interesting thread (minus the english comments).
I read the topic and then read the comments below and it dawned on me that nz football fans are being ripped off by some uneducated bald headed englishmen who are a plague on nz's football society.
The All Whites are going to the FIFA football world cup and we should be celebrating this achievement.
But what do we have here ? A plague from england. Instead of supporting the game of football, these englishmen decide to bring their plague here to nz and talk about the EPL and their fantasies.
Poor englishmen, you guys have had a terrible childhood and its showing in this thread.
I am here as the teller of the truth. The truth will prevail, and that truth is that the All Whites will advance further than england. Yes indeed.

IF rugby was global, which of course it never will be, countries like Germany would be very good at it. They are good at most sports they play. Obviously Germany and about 90% of the rest of the world have decided not to bother with such a boring slow clumsy game played by fatties. It really is that simple. Someone signing on a line for the IRB DOES NOT make that country like rugby. Takes more than that. So 95 IRB members still only means that UK, RSA, NZ, eastern Aussie, very small pockets of France and Italy and Argentina and a few Island nations are about IT!!
Rugby will never be global. NEVER! But it is world famous in NZ! |

Come on nz football fans, we are better than that.
I see there are some other english in here trying to spread the gospel of anything english. I say stay away from here you disturbed beings, this is about the All Whites and their journey to south africa 2010. Not about any other country, this is about nz football.
The fact is, we have a football world cup to look forward to next year. Australian football fans had that feeling in 2006 when the socceroos were competing amongst the elite. I cant wait for 2010 to come along.
I believe - and this is my own opinion - that the All Whites can beat england in a friendly if it was staged here at the caketin. Easy.
As for other sporting codes, rugby is good and is still number one in nz, league is alright as they won the world cup last year, netball has some pretty good athletes (who I reckon will beat up any english footballers or their fans) but nz football is where its at.
But still, some like to lie about being at the game. wharfie72, I still cant believe how you pretended to be at the game - and then smack bang was on the internet (11.08om to be exact) to direct a comment to me! Yip english aye!

Warfie et al; the definition of true International sporting competition is Teams and/or athletes representing their respective countries competing against each other. English and European Club Soccer competitions clearly fall outside this definition, despite your protestations of non English/European players in these competitions and their global Television audience. The Rugby World Cup clearly falls within the aforementioned definition of true International sporting competition, and as previously stated, is bettered only by the Summer Olympics and the Soccer World Cup in global viewing numbers.
You can stop dissing Netball to and all Kingroydon. The average Netballer has got more skill, finesse and athleticism in her little finger than any Soccer wimp would have in their entire body. |
