Football doesn't care for regional competitions. Never has even though the NZFA persist.- Thats why New Zealand soccer is a joke.
"NZ Football has a game in Wellington sold out two weeks before kickoff!!! "- Maybe because its been 27 years since they played an "important " match.
"more kiwis play football than rugby"- Ofcourse, seeing that rugby is a full contact sport more girls and nancy boys would prefer soccer. More New Zealanders watch the npc in one day than the all whites the whole season live.
I like how you state the new captain gets paid more than 15 All Blacks. You forgot to mention that one All black was paid more than the all the other All Whites put together. You also fail to mention that the super 14 and npc players also make more money than their equivilent soccer players.
You are comparing international soccer to the npc , which makes sense right ????????Perhaps you were away when the Lions visited New Zealand or whenever there was a rugby international played here. But hey, if the npc is equivilent to the soccer world cup playoffs than you are correct. |

If rugby was 100X bigger than football then how do you explain the All Whites upcoming game in Wellington sold out two weeks prior to kickoff yet the Air NZ Cup final has only sold 6000 tickets and kicks off this weekend?? Food for thought eh! |

William Webb Ellis created a game because soccer is a game mainly played by girls or people that look and act feminine and have boyfriends.
Youve seen soccer fans, especially in Europe, with their behaviour- Higher Realm of intelligence? Whislt their European counterparts are middle or working cleass with degrees , OBEs and have dinner with the Queen.
No matter which way you look at it Rugby people are superior, superior atheletes, superior mentality and by far much more superior as men.

Its good to see that soccer doesnt care about New Zealand. This year may have been a "bad" year for New Zealand Rugby but never the less. Far more people watched rugby, turned up to rugby games and bought rugby parafanailia than any other sport. We could have another 500 bad years but rugby will still be 100 X bigger than soccer in New Zealand.

No matter what any Rugby weirdo says, Rugby traces it's roots back to the Best Game in the World..............SOCCER . I think someone called Webb-Ellis picked the ball up in a game of Soccer and ran with it, because he lacked skill and intelligence.....and so Rugby was born and they still live up to that lack of skill and intelligence. The reason why Rugby followers have issues with Soccer, is because they are not of the Higher Realm of Intelligence and Skill as that of Soccer people.
Soccer was created by the gods. Rugby by a mere mortal. |

Fact is this rugby final, the grand finale to NZs premier rugby competition was expected to be a sell out. So far its a flop.

Anyone hear Gordon Irvings sports comment on the radio this morning? He has said what I have been saying for years - football is global and rugby, league and netball are not even close.
Rugby is boring. All those fat men groping each other yet bizzarely pretending to be 'men'! There only seems like less than 5 minutes of 'action' in an entire game. People actually clap when someone kicks the ball out!!!!!!
Even the J@panese didn't fill up a stadium and that should not have been very hard! Rugby is for losers! |

No I wasn't "on the Soccer Threads" warfie, I was responding to your most recent post on *this* thread. I like to watch my Rugby at the ground anyway, so I can't get as excited about a Match that I'm watching on TV - it isn't the same for me.
Jonniedavy, just because more J@panese play Soccer and/or Baseball then Rugby doesn't really mean anything, because the All Blacks have a large and very enthusiastic following in J@pan. I would think it fairly safe to assume that more J@panese follow the All Blacks then play rugby themselves. |

A survey conducted by Kodomo in 1993 showed 45% of those surveyed was in favour of Baseball as their favourite professional sport, while 39% was in favour of Football, the popularity of football has apparently risen since.>
If you are still having trouble understanding this information, it shows the top two sports in Ja.pan are Baseball and Football. |

I just flicked through the channels in time to see the last 3 minutes of the 1st half of the rugby match. I thought my TV had frozen cos there was all these fat blokes lying on the field and the slightly thinner ones fanned out acrossthe field. NO MOVEMENT AT ALL FOR SEVERAL MINUTES!!! Then the half time whistle and there was a bit of jogging as the fatties raced for the half time pies. I came straight to the computer to see kiwibeca had just posted 8 minutes ago!! What a phoney she is. Makes out she loves rugby ....but doesn't even watch the fat men in black!!!
Very very easy to see why rugby will never get a world following. Cripes, even kiwibeca would rather be on the football message boards than watch that boring rubbish! |
