You are not qualified to talk about nz football englishman wahrfie72!
You are a fraud and you have been exposed as a fake. Just because england are not successful in the world of football it doesnt mean you can say anything to do with the All Whites.
You are the prime example of the english folk who pretend to love football but refuses to comment about anything positive in regards to the football profile here in nz. You dont support football at all judging by your internet knowledge of the actual game itself.
Look at your comments wharfie72, it smacks of negativity and envy. You are envious that nz football can sell out a stadium then you attempt to talk about another nz sporting code like it has anything to do with my teams aspirations to reach the football world cup.
Italy is a football nation, but that has nothing to do with nz football at all. Just because the All Blacks sell it out, why do you want to talk about it when this thread is about nz football ? You are a fake and an englishman at that.
NZ football is on the rise, your beloved england are on the decline. Simply put, they are pathetic.
Have a great week nz football fans.(and may I also include nz sporting fans) |

The All Whites are trying for World Cup qualification. The all blanks will never achieve that because the rugby fiasco is NOT a World Cup. The World doesn't care for rugby, bar a few countries.
The only true World Cup is run by FIFA. |

How do I explain the italy v NZ rugby match having a good crowd?
When a team of fat freaks comes to town, people like to see. Many have no necks, one wears toilet paper in his hair and all are incredibly obese. Out of a 60 million population, a stadium can be filled for one game. Not that hard really.
So what was the official attendance at the Air NZ Cup final yesterday in 'rugby mad' NZ? |

FYI Warfie, the Stand that the TV Cameras face at Lancaster Park is still under construction, and won't be finished until late Jan. That's why the crowd may have appeared a little sp@.rse on the Telly. I was at the game, and I can tell you that although it wasn't a Sell Out, there was still a good sized crowd there.
There's a very good reason why the ANZ Cup doesn't always pull in huge crowds; Super Rugby. The Super 14 base cities; Auckland, Hamilton, Wellington, Christchurch and Dunedin, host two domestic tournaments each year, and the ANZ Cup suffers somewhat in these cities because of this. (The Super 14 is considered more exiting by some punters, so they focus on that rather than the ANZ Cup.) However, if you go outside these Super 14 base cities, Nelson, Invercargill, Tauranga, Napier and Palmerston North for instance, then you'll find that the ANZ crowds are, relatively speaking, much better than they are in the Super 14 Cities.
The upcoming All Blacks - Italy match, to be held in Milan; which is a Soccer mad city apparently, sold out months ago. If, as you so obstinately state on these MB's, Rugby is nothing and Soccer is everything, then how would you explain this apparent anomaly? |

| What a shame seeing what seems like an almost empty stadium for the Final of the Air NZ Cup - the showpiece of NZ rugby. |

Well its a big day for NZ rugby with the grand final of the famous Air NZ Cup. The showpiece of NZ domestic rugby.
I would expect nothing less than a sellout. After all, rugby is massive here in NZ.....right?!
Anything less than a sellout would be a massive disappointment. Hopefully the players in this big game will not be playing in front of a half empty stadium, which is what they are used to in the lead up games.
Of course as rugby is so big here and football so small ( as I am continually told ), I am guessing hardly anybody will turn up next week for the NZ v Bahrain football WCQ.
Hope it is a great sporting week for all concerned.
Have a great week NZ rugby fans and football fans! |

I for one agree that nz football is down the rankings in its profile here in nz. I am qualified to state that because I genuinely care for the state of nz football.
The all whites sold out clash is going to be one of the most memorable moments in my life simply because I have waited 27 years for something worthwhile to look forward to. The wellington phoenix appears to be cruising along just fine which is great.
But for us real nz football fans, our only downfall is that we seem to attract the english counterparts who pretend to enjoy nz football but in reality have nothing good to say simply because they are english.
They know who they are, and if you read their postings they attempt to direct the average sporting fan to their english football competition. You say something bad about any english footballer and they will pounce on you and claim the usual "I am not english".
wharfie72 and johnniedavey, you 2 are the weakest link. Goodbye!
Have a great week NZ football fans |

Football doesn't care for regional competitions. Never has even though the NZFA persist.- Thats why New Zealand soccer is a joke.
"NZ Football has a game in Wellington sold out two weeks before kickoff!!! "- Maybe because its been 27 years since they played an "important " match.
"more kiwis play football than rugby"- Ofcourse, seeing that rugby is a full contact sport more girls and nancy boys would prefer soccer. More New Zealanders watch the npc in one day than the all whites the whole season live.
I like how you state the new captain gets paid more than 15 All Blacks. You forgot to mention that one All black was paid more than the all the other All Whites put together. You also fail to mention that the super 14 and npc players also make more money than their equivilent soccer players.
You are comparing international soccer to the npc , which makes sense right ????????Perhaps you were away when the Lions visited New Zealand or whenever there was a rugby international played here. But hey, if the npc is equivilent to the soccer world cup playoffs than you are correct. |

Is this a fact? If so where from? Or did you just make it up???
"Its good to see that soccer doesnt care about New Zealand"
Ermmm what does that mean????????????????
NZ Football has a game in Wellington sold out two weeks before kickoff!!!
And heres a few facts for you; more kiwis play football than rugby, and NZs football captain makes more $$ in a year than fifteen all blacks!
If rugby was 100X bigger than football then how do you explain the All Whites upcoming game in Wellington sold out two weeks prior to kickoff yet the Air NZ Cup final has only sold 6000 tickets and kicks off this weekend?? Food for thought eh! |

"No matter what any Rugby weirdo says"- Am I a weirdo because I am
-Straight
-Have a girlfriend
-Have a life
And was not fiddled with as a child?
William Webb Ellis created a game because soccer is a game mainly played by girls or people that look and act feminine and have boyfriends.
Youve seen soccer fans, especially in Europe, with their behaviour- Higher Realm of intelligence? Whislt their European counterparts are middle or working cleass with degrees , OBEs and have dinner with the Queen.
No matter which way you look at it Rugby people are superior, superior atheletes, superior mentality and by far much more superior as men.
You might want to join Warfie, he's busy eating di@k aswell. |

Its good to see that soccer doesnt care about New Zealand. This year may have been a "bad" year for New Zealand Rugby but never the less. Far more people watched rugby, turned up to rugby games and bought rugby parafanailia than any other sport. We could have another 500 bad years but rugby will still be 100 X bigger than soccer in New Zealand.
ENJOY EATING DI@K BIT@H! |

No matter what any Rugby weirdo says, Rugby traces it's roots back to the Best Game in the World..............SOCCER . I think someone called Webb-Ellis picked the ball up in a game of Soccer and ran with it, because he lacked skill and intelligence.....and so Rugby was born and they still live up to that lack of skill and intelligence. The reason why Rugby followers have issues with Soccer, is because they are not of the Higher Realm of Intelligence and Skill as that of Soccer people.
Soccer was created by the gods. Rugby by a mere mortal. |

Fact is this rugby final, the grand finale to NZs premier rugby competition was expected to be a sell out. So far its a flop.

Anyone hear Gordon Irvings sports comment on the radio this morning? He has said what I have been saying for years - football is global and rugby, league and netball are not even close.
Rugby is boring. All those fat men groping each other yet bizzarely pretending to be 'men'! There only seems like less than 5 minutes of 'action' in an entire game. People actually clap when someone kicks the ball out!!!!!!
Even the J@panese didn't fill up a stadium and that should not have been very hard! Rugby is for losers! |
