I am a stern rugby supporter and live to watch the All Blacks play the Springboks. My grandfather use to tell me about the might of the Springboks and how great it was to beat them. I have some very interesting facts:
1921 was the first time SA NZ played. It ended up a drawn series.
Thereafter the Springboks won all series between each other (unitl 1955) and took claim to the title of world rugby's greatest team for 76 years, always leading the All Blacks by having a superior win/loss the All Blacks. In 1992, after 11 years without any international rugby, the Springboks re-entered the rugby world with 20 wins to NZ's 15.
In 1997, NZ took over that title and have held it now for 12 years. It has taken the Springboks, ironically, about 11 years to get themselves sorted out and now look set to dominate us (All Blacks) again. The scary thing is, even when they were underperforming for the last decade and a half, they still won 2 world cups!
South Africa have 2 world cups, New Zealand 1 (a world cup without the Springboks because of Apartheid).
I hope NZ can hold on to their lead of wins between the All Blacks and Springboks, but it looks very much like the Springboks are going to dominate this century like they did the previous one.
It is an honour to watch these great nations play each other and I hope for our sake, NZ keeps it up!

| The aussies have to be given the cauldron that they gave us in the last game.We were burnt by aussie passion, dry palying conditions and oz tenacity. We have to give it to them in a more kiwi fashion on our home turf. They All Black Forwards have to improve by 200% no matter what. |

i'm sure the boys who have to front up to these dingo/all blacks wannabees would appreciate some unconditional support rather than discussing this rubbish... |

did a lot for wales sorry - they actually made the quarter finals in the 1999 world cup....and beat south africa - something they havent done ever since!! lol as for the lions - they lost 2 -1 to the wallabies....look at what clive woodward achieved with the lions?? hehe
stop digging yourself a hole and build a bridge and get over it!!! lol |

| Wow all i see at the moment is a bunch of winers. I feel embarassed to be a kiwi. Lets face it if they had appointed robbie deans as coach and we had lost we would be saying the NZRU are dickheads for not keeping Graham Henry. As far as Iam concerned it is a lose lose situation which ever way you go. I think it is good we are losing it will do us good and HOPEFULLY fire our guys up. Just get over it roll on next week. |

| At least John Hart had the decency to acept responsibility for the their world cup loss which was a LOT better than Henry's, At least they got within striking diatance. How Henry had the gall to reaply for the job beats me, He's a loser, Get rid of him.Hey when was the last time anyone every saw him smile??? |

Henry brought wales out of the dump to beat SthAfrica and put them on a winning streak before he left,if you know anything about that lions team you would know that half of them rebelled against him cause he was very strict with them in trainings and a lot of them sulked because they were punished when breaking curfew.
As for the world cup there hasnt been a coach that has taken us to the podium since 1987.finishing 2nd or 8th means the same mate in rugby terms there are no prizes for 2nd let alone 8th.We have to have things go our way,give us a stronger draw,first class officials on the day.You sound like a sulky Deans supporter,if your not gonna get behind our coach go support pingpong or knitting we have heard enough Henry bashing dickhead |

what a loser!!!! u seem to love the word 'fail'!! yet uve failed to mention henrys welsh team beat south africa for the first time in 1999...england and france as well!! they couldnt do b4 he arrived!! he had to pick crap players anyway..and they made the 1999 quarter finals for the first time since 1987!! failed??? just ur memory boy...
as for the lions...they lost one of the most memorable series ever to be played!! lost 2 - 1 ...against who?? the reigning world champs at that time!!! lol haha man u r dumb..
yes the all blacks lost the quarters...we all know what happened...sin bin...forward passes..offsides galore etc etc... nothing was new...we didnt make the final in 1999 2003 and 2007...fullstop!! regardless where they ended up at none made it to the final!!!
did u forget that henry took the auckland npc team to all the playoffs while he was in charge??? hehe 1992 semi 1993 - 1996 champs 1997 semis!!!! lol blues super 12 champs 1996 & 1997..finalists in 1998!!!! 1993 super 10 finalists!!!

| Graham Henry survives. Lets have a look at his record, yes, he was successful as coach of Auckland and with the Blues. Lets look at his International Coaching record. Wales - RESULT FAILED - Lions - RESULT FAILED. With the All Blacks, history will say that his win/loss record is better than previous All Blacks coaches but at least previous All Black coaches successes in between world cups were not that far off Henrys. This is not a true bench mark of a successful All Black Coach. The All Blacks record between World Cups ARE ALWAYS more wins than losses. Record books confirms this. One record of Henry's that never will be beaten however is that he was coach of the All Black's with the worst World Cup record = RESULT FAILED. Previous coaches since 1987 either won the world cup or made it into the final or at least the semi final. I cant even remember the wins that the All Blacks have had over the last 4 years, but I will definitely never forget the QUARTER FINAL loss. As for reconditioning - wasn't this suppose to ensure that our players were in prime physical and mental condition for the world cup = RESULT FAILED. Piss off major sponsors of Super 14 as well as NZ Rugby public = RESULT SUCCESSFUL. Rotation - wasn't this suppose to ensure we had broad base of top line players able to play at international level provide rest for players to maintain peak physical and MENTAL condition for the world cup = RESULT FAILED. The reappointment of Henry & co had nothing to with their record because if it did logic will say that they should not have been re-appointed. The 2007 year was all about preparing for the world cup. Didn't Henry prior to the World Cup on his soap box say "judge me" based on World Cup Results. After the World Cup Fiasco, that has changed to "judge me" by my results over the last 4 years. Henry will introduce one more thing this time - known as the top 2 inches - Rugby as well being a physical game is also a thinking game. = RESULT = ??? |
