| National Front members belong in the neanderthal and simple minded camp just like haka dancers. There are lots of front members around, don't know why they are allowed to walk the streets,Returned serviceman must cringe. |

| The haka as this page shows is to provoke a response bigoted or not i think my ancestors, past ABs an present would agree an be utterly satisfied....as anyone seen the dance the old Oz teams use to do.....now that's funny an no meaning but a slap and a tickle LOL even they laugh at it to day an refuse to bring it back because it has no tradition or culture value....an please this white an black thing is rubbish......in NZ history heaps of white people fought with the Moari, an preformed the rule of Maru...cutting the heart out lighting it an eating it, the first kill, an preformed the Haka an gave life up knowing they were about to die...you show guts to face it...like an CHALLENGE...some people have no idea what their on about an show they have no balls an small man problems please visit a medical page ...axe |

People who actually lecture in Tikanga Maori and Kapa Haka are going to vastly disagree with you. Having once been fortunate enough to be bought up in that environment, I know this first hand.
Sure, Some might stoop to an explanation of calling it a "dance", But thats still putting it into a simple but dummed down explanation for the masses to understand.
Bit like calling an Apache a Indian. |

se a n u s king wtf? jokes
bro it's a war dance end of story. If you backtrack voer thsi thread the reference is peppered all over the show. Stcik it with billy elliot if it helps you cope with it but it's a war dance /chant and fred and billy are wahtever it is they're doing and why they're doing it but they're not going into battle or trying to muster rsolve to deal with a not so ideal situation. Context mean anything to you? |

No not at all, But quoting "Wikipedia" as we know is hardly the bastion of all knowledge either. Especially when "anyone" including Donald Duck can place an entry into it.
Oxford Dictionary could have the same explanation too, And of course they have more credibility than Wikipedia because its the Oxford afterall. But that doesn't neccessarily make it right either. Ask most actual fluent Maori speakers and few if any are goin to describe it as a "dance".
Calling it a dance puts it in the same category as Fred Astaire, Dancing with the stars or even "Billy" bloody Elliot. No disrespect to them, But I hardly think it a challenge to battle can be put on the same list. |

sean king5020 I quote "And too call it a "Dance" is just using plain and simple english terminology because here is "NO" english equivalent to describe it.
Haka is Haka you ignorant phukka..."
Is the haka not a dance? I refer you to wikipedia: "A haka is a traditional dance form of the MÄori of New Zealand. It is a posture dance with shouted accompaniment, performed by a group"
Perhaps you could reconsider the inappropriateness of your final sentence as quoted above. Or do you lack the ability to accept that perhaps you are the ignorant one. |
