| i'm sick of the haka. the rest of the rugby world used to like it, but the shine has gone over the years due to gross over reaction to teams supposed 'disrespect' to the haka. no one really gives a shyt about anything maori except for maori themselves. |

Hmmm..yawn...reading the threads of those opposed to the haka its damn obvious that they dont have a clue of its historical significance to the kiwis and NZ indigenous culture.
Its there fore pointless in my opinion to even try to explain what they obviously cannot/will not begin understand. How does one reason with an ignoramus? who probably does not possess any similar culture at all to even understand the pride & respect that comes with the haka demonstration.Im sure there are other cultures around the world who also have a tradition before entering into "battle/combat" etc but alas..they do not play rugby or if they do...did not include it in their opening game signature like the AB's
So lets not waste anymore time entertaining this ignoramus comments that are like a fart in the wind (audible but of no consequence) what so ever.
The haka and the AB's go together like bread & butter.
Its their signature and the informed rugby world respects them for it. |

poor excuse that the samoans do? MADDY you seem to have a go at someone else for their bigoted opinion then you come right back at it showing that you're no different... FYI Samaon culutre is alive and well and has a home. Maori are struggling to keep it going albeit with the help of the dollars genareated by every other racial group in this country. Just so you kow your ta-moko enlisted the help of Samoans to re-vitalise it. Our siva tau is exactly that a dance talking of what we brign to battle as for the haka it aseems like every fkn academic wants their fifteen minutes of fame and tries to twist and embellish the whakapapa trying to make things more than what it really is somtimes backtracking for teh sake of the PC. Samoan culture not up for sale. Your sh1t yeah probably like a plastic tiki and being paid for somethgin suposedly gifted. Mana? pfft! It's not ideal but your lack of esteem and self-loathing doesn't help this argument.
The haka to me is here to stay and I do agree with a previous poster that the Culture of the ABS take it probably way too seriously when in actual fact it's the rugby they should be concerning themselves with.
I don't wnat to see the haka go as really it is a calling card of the national team and part of the All Black tradtion and spectacle in Rugby internatioanlly. Every one else should just do what people If you hate the haka carry on chatting and having a beer and wait for the whistle to go for kick-off. No drama! |

| The Haka is like a boy racers. Big mouth but small weenie. It is only acceptable by some here in NZ but the rest of the worlds think it is barbaric. Pulling faces, Blowing snot and what`s up with the tongue? And the masturbate moves ???. My God do we live in Africa. Why are the majoritys minds still stuck in 3rd world gear? This is 2009 and not 1820. We are supposed to live in a civilized country. Let the Haka be good history. Let it go |

Justgoforit:
The first paragraph of your post was fine. Why you bothered with the second paragraph with its nonsensical lame attempt at insulting me (for no reason) is a mystery. I can only guess you're on some emotional low.
The only people abroad who were interested in the Haka in my vast experience were the French. I'm sorry but I got more negative feedback on the subject than positive.
And to repeat: I'm NOT against the AB's doing it. I just think it's taken far too seriously and given too much attention. All of this about disrespect just sounds like loser wannabe tough guy compensating stuff. So what if other teams decide to ignore it or to walk into it? they didn't ask to have a haka done in front of them so why can't they respond how they chose? I think we can agree that it makes no difference to the subsequent game so why the big hoo-hah over it?
And why do sports teams we're not so proud of have to start doing it like the hockey team or the Aussie rules team? isn't part of the Haka to do with the fact the AB's have always been champs? And why can't other codes do another haka instead of Te Raproha's?
And are people doing it in public a good image for the country? I think we can agree they're not.
Just my opinion but there's a time and place for things... |

as its for biutch's like yourself who have nothing better to do then moan their a*r*s*e*s off like you. You and others must have 1 wharked up sad life to be moaning over such pride that our sports teams carry when representing their country! |
