Re:Sick of the Haka? Reply to this message
People who actually lecture in Tikanga Maori and Kapa Haka are going to vastly disagree with you. Having once been fortunate enough to be bought up in that environment, I know this first hand.

Sure, Some might stoop to an explanation of calling it a "dance", But thats still putting it into a simple but dummed down explanation for the masses to understand.

Bit like calling an Apache a Indian.

Re:Sick of the Haka? Reply to this message
se a n u s king wtf? jokes

bro it's a war dance end of story. If you backtrack voer thsi thread the reference is peppered all over the show. Stcik it with billy elliot if it helps you cope with it but it's a war dance /chant and fred and billy are wahtever it is they're doing and why they're doing it but they're not going into battle or trying to muster rsolve to deal with a not so ideal situation. Context mean anything to you?

Re:Sick of the Haka? Reply to this message
No not at all, But quoting "Wikipedia" as we know is hardly the bastion of all knowledge either. Especially when "anyone" including Donald Duck can place an entry into it.

Oxford Dictionary could have the same explanation too, And of course they have more credibility than Wikipedia because its the Oxford afterall. But that doesn't neccessarily make it right either. Ask most actual fluent Maori speakers and few if any are goin to describe it as a "dance".

Calling it a dance puts it in the same category as Fred Astaire, Dancing with the stars or even "Billy" bloody Elliot. No disrespect to them, But I hardly think it a challenge to battle can be put on the same list.

Re:Sick of the Haka? Reply to this message
sean king5020 I quote "And too call it a "Dance" is just using plain and simple english terminology because here is "NO" english equivalent to describe it.

Haka is Haka you ignorant phukka..."

Is the haka not a dance? I refer you to wikipedia: "A haka is a traditional dance form of the Māori of New Zealand. It is a posture dance with shouted accompaniment, performed by a group"

Perhaps you could reconsider the inappropriateness of your final sentence as quoted above. Or do you lack the ability to accept that perhaps you are the ignorant one.

Re:Sick of the Haka? Reply to this message
the haka is absolutely ridiculous and an embarrassment
to white New Zealanders. The lunatics black and white
do it with their tongues protruding eyes bulging if
its not demonic what is...no wonder we have problems
with Maori aggression. I let people overseas know
we are embarrassed of it.

Those 2 brothers will probably get life sentences, then be put in maximum security away from Gen Pop where they wouldve been attacked no doubt.

Oh I wish the guards would accidentally put them in the yard at lunchtime.

Re:Sick of the Haka? Reply to this message
I'm not sick of the Haka but definitelty getting there with the Dumb pillicks who moan about it and somehow draw a connection with a haka on a rugby field and what those turds did to baby NIA.

a) shame on you for bringing that into a rugby thread to flesh out your racist and uninformed opinon about Haka & the ABs

b) what goes around comes around. Pathetic butt-plugs like Malcom and those of his ilk are incapapble of joining the dots and realising that this is in the context of Rugby and the haka as a trrditon ofr our national team.
I have to ask Malcom. Were you dropped on your head?...cause the way you carry on tells me you're damaged good r's_hole!

Kia Kaha_ The Haka and the ABs_ one and the same inseperable and a tradition that will go on forever.
