Ellis' form haesn't exactly been inspiring but at its best solid. His form at the back of the scrum hasen't been helped by some poor scrummaging by the all black forwards. Its either Weepu or Cowans who have better attacking potential. Cowans was missed in the loss against the Springboks.

It wouldn't matter who was at halfback (within reason of course), as long as the the forwards aren't dominating the halfback will always look bad. I'm of the opinion that it doesn't really matter who takes the field as long as they get up for it and play well. I'm also dead set against knee jerk reactions, before jumping to conclusions look at some of the contributing factors. We haven't had a dominating tight five for a while & that will have a affect on the rest of the team but especially the loose forwards and the halfback. In saying that, I'd like to know what Mr Weepu did to fall out of favour?

Agreed, hes not up to it. I feel sorry for Cowan, this would be his chance to step up and cement the no. 9 spot if it wasn't for injury.

He is not All Black class. He has been tried and failed more than once now. If he didnt play for canterbury he would never have been picked.

not a chance in hell. He will likely slow with age and at this stage he plays like he suffers from severe arthritus

one can say that the main reason with persevering with ellis is the age factor? hoping he might just turn into a decent halfback by 2011! right?

This pathetic piece of crusader craap is a disgrace. How long will they persist with him. January and now Burgess own him. A blind retarded para-plegic would be quicker from the base of a ruck than him.
Where is Leonard? We will lose the bledisloe and tri-nations if Ellis stays |
