Re:Henry must stay Reply to this message
Unanimous means everyone voted for him gvtst. You said it was 7 to 1. Bare in mind also that these people are covering their own backsides because they are up for review also. They were Henry's yes men and didn't want to admit they got rotation policies wrong.

I don't know if the Crusaders chased Ali because Ali's situation with the Blues had obviously become untennable. We were certainly happy to have him though. I think as much as the Ali will be good for the crusaders, the crusaders will be good for Ali. As a franchise they have always been a far more disciplined outfit than the Blues.

Re:Henry must stay Reply to this message
Is that dachiroprocter17? Henry is a selfproctologist and anybody outside of Auckland knows it. So was Luke warm MacCallister, did he forget it's a team game or just never know? We in Canterbury think we're better 'cause we are mate! I rugby players are better because they have to be to make the team. Not just as athletes but as individuals. The only meathead in our team is Ali but Canterbury will change him and who knows he might just get the balance right - finally. Pity we can't all be winners but hey I thought you'd be used to losing by now.

Re:Henry must stay Reply to this message
Well well well isn't this a revelation and timely at that given half of this thread has touched upon this very thing. Strange then that this has come out when Robbie was counting on the yahoos spitting the dummy over the world cup installinghim as the new boss. Well done NEw Zeladn great call and if Henry needed any reminding then this is it coming form the guy who wanted his job. Deal with each game as it comes and forget placing as much focus on the cup. Don;t be suckered into doing what the so called commentators are looking for you to do. SChweet!

Re:Henry must stay Reply to this message
Robbie Deans has handed out some advice to New Zealand rugby as he prepares to take charge of a Wallabies team determined to reclaim some meaningful silverware - end your World Cup pre-occupation!

Deans - who was assistant coach of the 2003 All Black World Cup squad - said the obsession with the tournament in some quarters in New Zealand rugby had contributed to the All Blacks' ongoing downfall on the big stage.

The All Blacks have not won the World Cup since 1987.

They bombed out of this year's tournament at the quarterfinal stage - their worst-ever finish.

Deans said the focus on the four-yearly tournament was detrimental thing.

"There is no doubt that has been the case," Deans told the Sydney Morning Herald.

"Some outfits have based their approach on the World Cup, for example, and been prepared to sacrifice in between. I don't think, personally, that caters for the long term.

"We have just seen a great example with the All Blacks, where their emphasis actually became a distraction. It became an obsession and larger in their own minds than it should have been.

"It became counter-productive."

Deans will take charge of the Wallabies after ending his Super 14 commitments with the Crusaders in June.

He said one of his goals was to treat every test in the four years leading up to the World Cup as important as each other.

"(Winning) every week would be great, absolutely," he said.

"If you keep building, you will be in the best state possible come that challenge (of the World Cup). You can't deal with that challenge until it is in front of you. You have to live the moment along the way."

Deans also revealed a large focus during his unsuccessful job interview in front of the NZRU board for the All Blacks coaching job was on the failed 2003 World Cup campaign.

But Deans said he didn't combat that by reminding the board that Graham Henry had only been able to coach the All Blacks to the 2007 World Cup quarterfinals.

"No, I wante ...
