Maybe he should have another four years, nothing like lessions learn like the lessions we learn from making mistakes.

Or do we introduce someone else to the repeat the mistakes of history...

Re:Henry must stay Reply to this message
We sacked Mitchell because of one game. The guy was far friendlier, had better results, blooded more players, and let the players play rugby at all levels.
If it was good enough for the NZRFU to sack Mitchell it is good enough for the NZRFU to sack Henry.

Henry's results over the last year have been suspect to say the least. He carried on with Mitchells scheme of continueinf blooding players. But then he wouldn't let them play rugby for thier unions. His results have been soso. For although he hasn't lost a game over his term as manager. He hasn't convincingly won a game over the last year. Lets sack the Guy and give Robbie Deans the Job. Lets Keep Robbie in NZ and give him the chance to see what he can do with our National team.
Someone who can and will talk to the nation through the press. The All Blacks were so underplayed and under hyped it was not funny. Different I admit. But I think to the detrement of the team.

Re:Henry must stay Reply to this message
if Henry couldn't see there was a problem after the Edinburgh game, I assume he thought all was well as he then rotated for Toulouse, then he obviosly isn't a good enough coach to react to situations as they develop. He's been very well paid to deliver the cup, he hasn't so now he has to go.

Re:Henry must stay Reply to this message
henry must stay, he is much better than the other coaches we have had, also cant you guys see the positive we won the tri nations and blendsloe cup with henry, hes a great coach, we shouldn't throw away a good coach just like that, i think hes awesome, hes a good asset and if we keep using henry we are at a gain cos if we get a new coach we r more likely to loose cos tht person will hv to get to kno the team again and hence we will lose, out tactic should be to keep henry cos hello everytime we get a new coach we lose!

Re:Henry must stay Reply to this message
Well it was not the coach on the field against France. I saw a bunch of professionals out there all very well paid for doing something they like. They have played numerous games together over the last couple of seasons so they are a team and a good one but against the French they, the players let themselves down and let the coaches and managers down. When you are on that field and you know your strengths and you are well skilled in the strategy of the game you make good sound choices and decisions. The players failed to do that and clearly they have to take it on the chin and bear it. A coach can only do so much and Graham Henry has certainly provided these AB's with all the skills they required to beat any team on the day and that has been proven time and time again in games against South Africa adn Australia and the Lions etc etc.... last night was no different other than the boys failed to make the right decisions. Leave the coaches alone and let the real men out there on the field last night stand up and be accountable.... The ref was excellent and so were the line calls. yes there was a forward pass that led to a French try but so what? We had so many opportunities to cross the line but we blew it plain and simple....

Re:Henry must stay Reply to this message
GH and the coaching team must go. Granted, he has a truck load of sucess with the AB's, BUT he stood up and said when he got he position that he was going to change the "winning mindset". After the game today, that didn't happen. Sorry...they all need to go, and so does 3 quarters of the team!

Let JK have a go.

Re:Henry must stay Reply to this message
Your absolutely right Henry Like Hart are the best coaches this countries produced and henry must stay for another tenure. The French won on faith and passion. You cant beat that and the ABs had the skill, but you cant beat faith especially and when it has compassion your a winner. The Abs didnt have a plan the French did and I hope they win the RWC 2007 as Ive always said in the past it is the ABs and the rest of them. I'm prepared to suck a cucumber it has a better taste.

Re:Henry must stay Reply to this message
Anyone that thought that by having and utilising a flat backline, when we have the most potent attacking force in world rugby, thereby nullifying it, deserves to be shown the exit stage right door. it didn't work for Wayne Smith in 2001 and it didn't work for Graham Henry in 2007. As the French colloquially say it was "Deja Vue". And as the Spanish would so eloquently put it "Hasta la vista Henry/Hansen/Smith"

Re:Henry must stay Reply to this message
I agree, Keep Henry and the rest of the coaching staff. Would be good to see them stay rather than sacking them like everyone else in the past. I dont think they deserve to go. There were a few things in the game that didnt go our way. I think Henry has done a awesome job, just look at his record. I know we as supporters all feel like crap, just imagine what the team is feeling, about a million time worse Imguess

Re:Henry must stay Reply to this message
I love all this 'the players play the game' garbage. Look at the game the junior allblacks this year look how they cut defences to ribbons with ease just using simple support play it was consistent and effective due to good coaches coaching a simple game plan. It enabled the JABs to get into a pattern an assert dominance. The all blacks however have been skittery all year relying on individaul brilliance or turnover ball they looked like they completly lacked any sort of pattern or gameplan which was fatally exposed in the quaterfinal. Everyone said if the All Blacks can play like they can it will be an easy win but why the word if!!! they should have been a well drilled unit by the time this game came reguardless of game time or quality of opposition, but instead it looked like they were just making it up as they went along. Henry made the same mistake as John mitchell thinking all out attacking rugby will beat a more conservative clinical performance

Re:Henry must stay Reply to this message
It would be a shame to lose G. henry as coach. Long term development of players and coaching staff as a team is something to be deeply considered. The two most successful teams in Australian Football had longtime coaches for 25 and 27 years respectively.... is that just a coincidence?
The sack the coach approach is such a standard Kiwi approach.... which is to appease all the upset Kiwis who can't stomach an honest to god loss. Sack the coach after the world cup is a kneejerk and childish reaction... and ranks right up there with blaming the ref... the conditions.... rotation... etc etc.

I think thats its not entirely Henrys fault for the teams lost. When it comes down to it, the boys shouldnt have had all those handling errors and we should have got a 'real' referee one whos eyes are not looking just at the ABs not the other side!

Re:Henry must stay Reply to this message
Henrys tactics were appaling against France. In the first 20 minutes you could see what was going to happen. What on earth were we thinking playing ping pong. The players looked uneasy and allowed France to dictate how the game was played. Passing and moving forward is what we are all about not kicking and playing the Nothern Hem game. The whole team needs to stand up and take the blame and people need to stop blaming the ref. We should have slaughtered the French regardless of what the officials were up to.
I agree consistancy is the key and adapting others playing methods to allow us to use the incredible skill we possess

Re:Henry must stay Reply to this message
hi everyone! lets do the reallity check. now everyone is trying to blame someone for the AB's defeat. my question to all is if AB's has done so good than why are we sitting here and sulking? i reckon, if AB's did everything they could than they would came out winners not losers, a idiot ref wouldn't bother us. its been long 20 years now, well new zealanders have to wait another 4 years, and lets not hope to wait for 20 more years... just cut all this crap, stop playing guitar and start playing some rugby. too much crap said before world cup started, inbetween the games and now this after losing. stop all bloody talks and act on doing some serious business on next world cup. THE REALLITY WE GOT OUR BACKSIDE KICKED.

Re:Henry must stay Reply to this message
Henry must go his best coaching days are well behind him. What The All Blacks need is a coach who can actually unify the team at the moment we have some of the best players in the world but they all play an individual game which is why we lose the big games. We need to base our game on support for the man with ball and the forward pack hunting as a unit, the backs running from depth but most importantly the team needs to be heading in the same direction on the field and thats not currently happening

Re:Henry must stay Reply to this message
If a driver in F1 doesn't perform, who is sacked, the team of mechanics and engineers, the driver? No,it is a team effort so everyone takes their share of responsiblity. That is what "team is all about. The responsibility doesn't belong to the coach or the team or the support team, it is a team, so why does the coach always get sacked? Who plays the game, where is the coach when the players are on the field not fulfilling their responsibilities? The coaches job finishes when the players walk on the field. He can coach all he wants, but at the end of the day the players play the game. They know their responsibilities and it is up to them to ensure they are fulfilled, not only for themselves, but also for their coaches, their support team and everyone else. Take another look at where the responsibility lies!

Henrys stragey for this World cup has been an absolute failure. His rotation system and "cotton wooling" his team for the last 2 - 3 months led to the lose against France.

Re:Henry must stay Reply to this message
Correct, Henry has announced that in his opinion it is time for him to move on & let someone else have a go. Naturally Hansen is in line for a continued spot with the forwards (who were superb) if not the top spot? Smith may have blotted his copybook once again with the under-performing of our world class backs. Deans would be a brilliant selection as top dog if available, there isn't a team in the world that isn't trying to sign Robbie, but he has hung in with NZ in the hope he might get the nod for the top job.
