WEAK: Agreed but then we really don't give a rat's about any of those phuckers. Good call once things are sorted we should trash out our thoughts. This thread was really for the group to put their opinions regarding Henry and you have so that's good as it offers everyone more opinion and angles on what for the majority of us is a biggie in terms of whether we should do the same thing or bite the bullet and forge ahead for 2011. One thing I know depsite all of the disagreemnet is that we all want to see our team do well or at least perform to their potential. Chur bro!

Re:Henry must stay Reply to this message
Weker. You've already acknowledged the sense of what you wrote in the body of your own posting. I do agree with what really for the rest of us is normal tried and true practice. Really should have played the strongest possible team against France; didn't and paid the price. Advisor:Is Mains required? and on what grounds? Noone really has anything to offer on the end of this failed campaign other than the benefit of hindsight. Henry didn't nail it but as a coach has done a sterling job in every other apsect and should be allowed another crack at the RWC in 2011. Boy look at SA old Whitey's job was already up for grabs before th cup was in the cabinet. Now that's Poti and same goes for you buddy.

Re:Henry must stay Reply to this message
Putz, Unfortunatly I did not see Henry on Campbell live, what did he have to say? I watch all All Black games and go to as many as I can, Also Super 14 when I can.
Yes the all Blacks won a lot of games up in the 4 years up to the WC, but a lot of games were against weak opposition especially just prior to WC.
I was becoming concerned around then, and more so after the display against Scotland during WC. The team was making too many basic mistakes and it was obvious some of the players had not had enough game time together. Too much of the rotation policy. I would play my best team all the time and only bring on the reserves when a game was well and truly won. Also all of the players should have played Super 14 or any other rugby they could. Give them as much game time as possible, after all they are professionals and are payed to play and WIN! You take your chances with injury.
With all the resting and rotation, in the end what good did it do? look at the injury toll in the game against France?
Also I think coaches should have played the game at a high level before taking up coaching. Whats Henrys history?
If Henry is kept on he should be second in command.
My personal choice would be Deans and Colin Cooper with Laurie Mains thrown in as advisor. (yes you can laugh) but the ABs need to TOUGHEN UP!!

Weke Henry was on Campbell live within the week after that loss. He hasn't been avoiding anyone. I can tell your a big fan of Henry's I agree that the best should always be played however I am interested in whether you enjoyed all of the other games that the ABs played up to that loss or were you just waiting for the worldcup?

I say keep them both.I'm wondering if maybe Robbie Deans knows something we don't because he has made himself unavailable for every other coaching role except the AB's??? It would be nice to know one way or the other.

Re:Henry must stay Reply to this message
Well maybe not everything! It depends on what players he has available at the time.
Henry has been lucky to have available probably the most talented group of players ever, but you need more than just talent and good looks to win the hard games.
Henry made too many mistakes on how he used those players, you must have your best team on the field in any knockout games, or at least have them on the bench!
Obviously they had that game ticked off before it started and were thinking of the semi final.
Anyway, whatever happens I would not like to be in the boots of the next coach, although the pay packet would be nice!
It would also be nice to here from Henry and Co and the NZRFU, their silence is deafening. Yes I know there is going to be an "INDEPENDENT" reveiw of the whole thing but some explainations from the coaches would be a start, they owe it to the rugby public, or are they just too arrogant?

Re:Henry must stay Reply to this message
You must have a crystal ball, abit overconfident aren't you, isn't that what we were guilty of recently with Henry and boys? What makes you so sure Deans will only play the best, look at who he got rid of when he had a chance, Christian, Tana, but to name a few.And suggesting that he will WIN everything!

Re:Henry must stay Reply to this message
Totally agree. If they get it right and the teams have no choice but to play the game without playong negatively or God forbid by running with the ball which started all of this sh!t then tyhe game will only get better and gain some huge appeal. Shit maybe places like england could start playing like that...jokes. Anyway I hope they keep Henry on (if he still wants to stay) As for Deans? Well what do you say to the guy who told everyone that his boy McDonald offered the same as what Umaga did in that lowlight against Aussie. I heard it said but don;t be surprised if in four years time McDonald (hell even Blackadder) end up on the team. No to Deasn is a vote ofr ZMoving forward. Retain Henry.

Re:Henry must stay Reply to this message
As many have said including O'Reilly the RWC needs abit of a revamp, I wanted SA to win when the AB's lost but a tournament is abit of a farce when you don't play any of the top five teams to get to a final. But SA won and fair enough too.

Re:Henry must stay Reply to this message
Oh PlEEEEEEAse struggled to win. a win is a win thanks we'll take it, and pull your head out of your ASS, there were alot of reasons why we lost confidence in the quarter final there was a rooky ref who was sooooooo bad and it takes alot to overcome this sometimes we only lost by two pointsFFS!!!One could argue that we didn't always play our best players as well.

Re:Henry must stay Reply to this message
be careful with the winning record
For those first tier team we were playing, some of them were not the top national team.
For example, the French team visiting, and we still struggled to win.
If we leave Henry at current position, it will set a bad example, a coach who cannot achieve the main goal (the ultimate goal for his appointment) can stay.

Now a laugh, answer to "strategy for not losing in the semi final or final of the world cup as what happened since 1987"

No price for getting the right answer

Re:Henry must stay Reply to this message
I'm with Nicolte on this one bros!

There is a risk and flaw with every mechanism - by not rotating, the risks/downsides are too much dependence on a particular player, not having a larger pool to rely on, player burnout/injuries etc etc

By having rotation mechanism - player consistency is affected.

This is where coaching and management staff need to apply rotation on basis of where the individual's mentality and energy levels stood. If you looked at Collins and Muliaina for instance, they were retained in most of the pre-world cup lineups wheres players like the "Rock"ocoko, McAlister etc had reductions to their normal playing schedule especially closer to the world cup.

I don't think Henry's strategy of wanting rotation is flawed - against France, we were unlucky playing a not 100% Carter, and the team also did not have the mental strength to read and anticipate France's 2nd half rejenuvation.

I would say (and again my view) that AB training should include aspects of strengthening the players mentality when they come under onslaught of the opposition - i.e. don't crumble and if you find yourself behind for some reason, compose and reorganise defence and offensive plays.
Note, the All Blacks lost the game after having been on the lead twice (so go figure)
