| Thats easy, they won't allow AB rejects of Samoan heritage, and Super 14 players to play for Samoa, IRB, wouldn't put money in equipment, education, or academies for the youth etc..continue to only allow, 2nd division, 3rd division choices to be represented, start to put them in the RWC pools of death, where they can only come last, or second to last, too drop nuts, to put us up against wales, scotland, france, argentina, who we've beaten in the past... |

Now back to the non-racist topic.
Manu Samoa's cup campaign was a shambles. IMO i think it was due to the clash in different playing styles, with half of the players from NH and the latter from SH.
Contrastingly the Sevens side performed exceedingly well in the 2006/07 circuit where they won the HK/Welly Sevens, USING ALL LOCAL PLAYERS. I think that had a huge part to play in their success. As a result of their likeness in playing styles they played as a unit.
Now Manu Samoa XV Aside are in rebuilding phase for the 2011 RWC. The recently established Pacific Cup and Pacific 6 Nations Cup, will play a key role in developing Samoa's local side in to an formidable unit. This will make it easier on the coach and players to really develop a national team that will ALWAYS play together, rather than 3 months before the World Cup when players from all over the world come together(This will most likely be the case with the appointment of a new head coach in the very near future). If this is done successfully and fitness/strength endurance issues resolved we will surely see improvements come 2011. |

| willy would you like a hug now? ha ha It's sad you've felt compelled to go against your better instinct and written what will sadly go right over that single-celled cellar dwelling butt-amoeba's head(which, as you well know like everyone else who has had a chuckle reading his drivel, is vacuous. The guy's brain is only just larger than his penis, and that is not really saying much!) Ab1: would have read the pen is mightier than the sword as: the penis mightier than the sword, giggled, shat his pants and fallen asleep in his kennel. ha ha This post is as sad as this guys sad and insgnificant life. Athlete? Thug would be more to the point. |

Why Did The Samoans Crack At The RWC?
Opinions differ but they did have a crack at it! They were simply out played and out thought and possibly out passioned if their is such a word, by teams better on the day.
They are still a worthy team considering their history and unlike our beloved AB's they can't be said to be the 'c' word.
If your Tongan, South African or the English well done! will see you again.
Michael Jones has done the best job he could have done, under budget and under resourced but when it comes down to it he couldn't play for them and the players for whatever reasons they came up short in are just as accountable as team management. No excuses they were beaten. |

In NZ, Samoans like the Tongans other Polynesian races and to a lesser extent the Maori race, whilst genetically blessed from birth and throughout their early sporting lives with natural gifts inherent in quicker developing bods with fast twitch muscles and superior strength compared to similar developing European/Caucasian races at an earlier age generally hold an edge in natural ability, size and strength.
This is arguably termed as 'white flight' in NZ Rugby, where mothers of little boys (whose fathers generally believe they should still have a go and want them to play Rugby as is the NZ tradition) are discouraged to let their underdeveloped child play Rugby with children whose age group is littered with developed Polynesians weighing adult playing weights hence the need for restricted grades and the preference for white mothers preferring their sons playing soccer or basketball due to the Polynesian preference for full contact sport.
Now when the slower developing European/Caucasian eventually catches up at the late teens to early 20's it becomes a contest of mental toughness and focused preparation as generally the European lad has had to work very hard to develop his body and in doing so the mental toughness and skills required to make it at representative level, mean while the Samoan or Polynesian boy who has been a sitter through the grades will have had to have developed the mental toughness and skill set required to compete at representative level and not have rested on his laurels through the earlier years as once the both races are on a more equal playing field as to speak a different type of mindset to remain at this level kicks in as the rewards of financial security become the stakes.
Now whether the Samoan/Polynesian boy's preparations have been thorough contending with all the social issues of 'fa Samoa' is normally disclosed fully at this stage as this is possibly the difference between taking the next step up to a Black Jumper, All Black/ ... |

......If you are such an authority and achiever and have attained such honours in the sports and subjects you have voiced with such pride here, then out with it man! So we can caress your ego and pat you on the back but if you do not have the backbone or have achieved the heights of those you have taken to task here today in this forum, then you have either been misled or misinformed in your ideals or you are just a liar...which is it boy!!! I suspect you are a liar and worst than those you have written about because you are afraid, were born afraid and have been afraid all your entire short life and as a Samoan Warrior from good breeding, I know and understand that it takes more than what you whisper about here lad, about what truly defines a real Samoan man. If you don’t believe me ask your girlfriend..!!!
Respectfully,
willy1styles
p4: Now if you are offended then take up your glove and use it, yes the pen is mightier than the sword, cleaner and its powerful words will be 10 times stronger than the sword, but I suspect that since you are already disadvantaged and in need of thesaurus, a good dictionary with pictures and a lesson in semantics then be assured I can do ugly as well. The lesson here is don’t mess with the ‘wongs’...you reading me little boy! |

ab1: part 1
Normally anyone worth his salt would totally ignore your immature and bigoted comments but since you have chosen to impugn the Polynesian races and in particular the Samoan people with your lack of vision and baseless comments which I believe has more to do with your own failures in sport if not life in general, then here is a reply worthy of your arrogance.
If you are a Polynesian as you claim or a ‘changeling’ cloaked as one, then you only need to look at yourself and possibly your own family upbringing to realise that the shortcomings you speak of must be too close to your own bloodlines (if your not a bastard! and fortunate to carry a worthy and proud name which I doubt), then hiding behind the guise and invocation of the so called 'freedom of speech' line reeks of a very little man who now attempts to slander a Warrior race like the Samoan people with short-sightedness bitterness prevalently found in bigoted losers...you are obviously a TY, are uninformed, likes to think he is educated beyond year 12 with all the nous found in a pea, whilst claiming to have the intellect to be an authority on a subject you clearly know little about.
You malign a race that has a heritage and tradition that your 5 minutes on earth can't even begin to compare with based on your years of study (your opinions!! Are they based on your informed BA, Masters and PH.D on Samoans... laughable!!! But I doubt it, are you an educated man? Now I really hate you.....or are they observations from your days in the hood and watching SKY???...lmao) on the sporting achievements or as you have announced here the non-achievements of the Samoan people tainting those who came before the present crop of athletes, those active today and those continuing to play long after your dead who will probably make you eat your words because they will be continuing to do things in sport that you can only dream of and why your girlfriend or boyfriend kicked you to the curb
for. |

| hey ima jabya im not hating on the island boys just trying to make a point, like ridge did a few years back...hey he got on the shit for it too mind you...and jonah....i never thought about him cause he was and is the biggest most overated player there ever was!!!!he ruled a few test matches and then stomped on some skinny white english kid in rwc 95...come on....the africans handled him pretty well...sure he was big and fast and strong but pound for pound, in all eras, he was by no means the best, not by a long shot....can you compare him to meads, waka nathen, trmain, whinery, bob scott, frik du preez naas botha, gavin hastings martin johnston serge blanco jean pierre reeves etc etc.....he did a few things in a few games and now hes a supersstar....i dont hate him all any polynesians, i think he plays on it alot but thats my thoughts ya know |

| In an ideal world chris, but you know only too well that whether we see this through state action eg. the soccer with fiji the cricket with zimbabwe not to mention that phuckar5e umpire the politics are always in there it's part of the game whether you like it or not. Still it would be great if it was as you suggested. |

| Race and politics are the two things you should never mix with sports.. there are so manys teams that cracked at the world cup... Ireland, Aussie, Wales you cant just put down to one thing... it is a tournament, some teams show up... some dont... at the end of the day they are all RUGBY PLAYERS playing the game which we love... they are all sports people trying their best... Peolple need to watch the RUGBY that is being played not the personalities... |

| Any chance your forebears were descended from a bunch of rampaging bolshies. If anything what I am seeing is that you can take a simple argument and muddy it up to the point that the truth becomes lost in it somewhere. Freud will probably also have us all believe that our passion for Rugby is born of some repressed desire to realise fulfilment that is entrenched so deeply within our consciouness that even we don't know that we suffer from it. I'd rather take to it with an "O" razor. Time to UNlearn MB. You are right you can't please everyone so why draw it out. Perhaps a pissing competition is not the intent here but while there is plenty to be said for what is in the head you should never discount what is in the heart other wise you will never be whole buddy. I think you might be more of a bolshevik than you realise. |

Well we could revert to the old misanthropic arguments of Nietzsche in this case and subjugate the masses.
We could have an aristocracy of talent and everyone else can be sycophants to the 'guardians'.
I think no matter what we do people will always moan.
Sigmund Freud said the trick with the execution of humour is to take something taboo and unpleasant and make it palatable so if we listen to half-assed bolshies jumping up and down about racism then we'll become an incredibly dull herd.
Consequently we'll start burning each other again.
As for cryogenics watch Boys From Brazil; it's a crappy movie! Its good for a laugh though as its just atrocious! |

| I don't think you believe that in a century we will change the hearts and minds of men which have not changed for the number of events in human history that have transpired. We have been talking about not learning anything by cleaning out AB squads and in the instance you've provided things will not change because men do not learn the lessons of history perhaps its in our DNA. Hopefully on a smaller scale we cna deal with the team and progress from there. |

| Nice segway from racism into plain old bigotry. I absolutley agree with you in terms of the freedom of speech (I love NZ) but refuting or knocking another person's point can have little to do with race and possibly more with disagreeing with one or several premise posed (in this context) by someone posting up. Joke or not a racist comment is still a racist comment. I often try and put myself in someone else's shoes before running my mouth however I am clearly convinced that there are people who have little value or self respect thus this approach really would not work which is why we have authtorities in sport like dobson and deaker who in my estimation are void of conviction. On the technological front MB I think you will find that the world has become a smaller place because the masses are connected this has its advantages and disadvatages I proffer that in terms of disadavantage you need only look at the USA with the eroded rights of its citizens and only a few months earlier questionable infrastruture to cope with disaster. On some level the world being connected as it is can give a false sense of security. So consider this and every thing else we've watched from afar when you ponder "racist hysteria" going the way of old salem. As long as there are people in this world with no desire to enlighten themselves or communities that can live without fear we are very much doomed to have bigotry and that based on race/culture with us sadly as part of the human condition. As a someone who has grown up as part of a minority I have seen some ugly things in this beautiful country of ours so you can understand when we all get worked up over the ABs it's something I feel good about because I know its a common focus and carries the hopes of people from different backgrounds and means. But here gain we see how it can all fall apart where lines as in life revert to ethnicity or nationality. With out the bad I guess we really don't see the good. |
