Lets face it . The only reason France beat us at the last World Cup was incompetent reffing. I think the NZRFU acknowledged this when re-selecting Henry but such is this PC crap they , and others , won't come out and say it.
But in saying that I doubt very much if they could have beaten South Africa anyway.
N.Z.'s World Cup record :
v. Australia Played 2 Lost 2
v. France Played 3 Won 1 Lost 2
England has been in 3 finals , winning one
New Zealand in 2 finals , winning one , the first when teams did not prepare themslves as thoroughly as they do now.

This thread is so irrelevant, of course the All Blacks are the best rugby team.
And like many have said before, I would happily never see NZ win another world cup in exchange for a 90% plus winning record in between.
People from other countries will see my attitude as an excuse for never winning the world cup but that's how I truly feel and I look forward to the day the majority of NZ rugby fans agree with me then we can stop the obsession over this stupid tournament. |

Winning the world cup doesnt make you the best in the world, it makes you the world cup holders, by that way of thinking England were the best team in the world from 2003 - 2007 hahaha yip OK. The RWC is just a tournament every 4 years, the best team in the world is decided in between these times. It really is that simple.

| Maybe not at the "07 World Cup but come on people,the Blacks only lost something like 8 tests in 4 years.The Best team "WE ARE".Every game we played against all rival teams fielded a near strength to a full strength team leading up to the world cup,Yet they could not show us the same respect.These are my opinions.Thanks GUys |

| Taake good points but I think personally much of it is copt out and meiahype. Wouldn't it be great if a family member (of an AB)were to post up and talk about how our boys feel or what they see as being personal attack. | my 2c of opinion, Yes! the All Blacks is not the Best! for three years and ten months they conquered the rugby-world, then comes the crunch time, they crumbled. it's like a heaveyweight boxer, he knocks and beats most of the contenders then when it's time to fight for the title, he gets stage-fright and got knocked out of contention. sure they are the most consistent team for the last twenty odd years, but not the best at the RWC circuit. they can't seem to be able to adept to the atmosphere of knock out rugby. they are too preoccupied with their successes of tri-nations, home-series tests, away-series tests, northern nations tours successes, lions-series tests and grand-slams tests. they simply don't have the killer-instinct for gladiatorial-rugby as we calls the RWC. the core characters of the '87 champion (uncompromising will to win at all costs) team is clearly lacking amongst our young flashy stars of late....too media savvy like a movie star with not much substance for real deal.... |

| The rugby world cup winners does not (in my view) make a team the best in the world, its a one off tournament every 4years!!! the best team in the world has to be consistent thorughout and the All Blacks is that team, if Australia or South Africa or any other team had a record like the All Blacks or better than by all means they are the BEST! You can see that with England, good on them for making the finals but you got to say they were terrible since the 2003 win!! Best team is consistent throughout. |

| the reason those players like mika etc... arent in the ABs is because, in the selectors eyes they arent as good as the others that are competing for their position.See rugby in nz has got depth we can pool on loads of players the guys that didnt make the ABs have to do better it makes them better players in the end.Alot that missed out this time have got a great chance for the irish/england games and the tri nations as some abs have gone lets hope we get it right. |

| Again I see you've conveniently ignored the fact that super players are involved in those cup victories. If someone had slotted a couple we wouldn't be having this conversation but I know for sure you would have been complaining if our team were not delivering results four years up to the world cup. You're not the first. I would rather lose one game in a knock out compettion for four years of winning rugby any day. Here's an idea support England they seem to fit your ideal and Lord knows they are better than the All Blacks by your standards. Devaluing the jersey? what would you know? You want a race based Abs team (sans "PI") and afoxy esque first five! What the hell are you doing in my country you inbred hillbilly. |

i can not judge the S.A RUGBY SYSTEM because i know nothing about it just what i hear and read in the papers.This quota issue is a sensitive issue among the yaapies,im a firm believer in picking on perfomance and attitude on the field.Picking players on colour and not on proven records would hurt the S.A rugby or it could be a blessing.All i know is that Rugby has always been a white dominated sport and soccer is mainly played by the blacks.
.Rugby is inbred into their white culture and is in our throughout our Maori,P.I and pakeha cultures making us one.
What ever happens we will still beat you......lets hope you sort it out Yaapies |

We are told by NZRU,Henry and his cronies that the RWC was the aim for the last 4 years.
mmmmmm we came 4th to 8th...not bad if you accept that from your no. 1 national team.
I would rather win the way Foxy,Stransky Johnny Wilkinson,Percy won .By kicking the goals .
How did all of those so called stars of ours from the past Super competitions perform at the last 3 RWCs..
No hat tricks from the PI star outside backs as I recall in the games that matter.
SA are world champions and I picked them to win it 2 years ago.
We will never win another RWC as long as we continue with these selection stupidities.
AND dont get me started on the way the AB jersey has been devalued. |

| When SA won the Cup in 95 there was one coloured player, come 2007 there are two. How much is SARU going to do in 4 yrs...going to take longer than that. |
