SOME OF THE ALL BLACKS ARE HEADING OVERSEAS AND LIKE I SAID IN ANOTHER POST THE DEPTH WE HAVE IN NZ RUGBY IS ENOUGH TO GIVE US A TEAM THAT WILL AGAIN BE COMPETITIVE
YEAH WE CHOKED AND WE WONDER IF WE WILL EVER HOLD THAT CUP UP AGAIN, LIKE THE WARRIORS LEAGUE SONG SAYS "YOU GOTTA HAVE FAITH"!!! THE ABS ARE STILL THE BEST AND I WONT APOLOGISE FOR DEFENDING THEM THEY ARE JUST AS GUTTED ABOUT LOSING AS U & I R, LETS GIVE THEM A BREAK AND KEEP SUPPORTING THEM (WE LOVE THEM WHEN THEY WIN WE GOTTA STILL LOVE THEM WHEN THEY LOSE!!) |

I disagree that the world rugby teams felt the English from 03 were a bench mark especially when they lost the six nations the NZ tour, the Australian tour after the world cup.
I also disagree with the Aussies from 91-2001. IN 1995 -99 the AB's were the considered team. 91-94 the Aussies were the worlds best team. |

the ONLY reason SA's record was any better before 15 years ago is because you they didn't allow "non-white" players to tour South Africa.........and international refs were not used, if they had been then SA's fine record would have been pretty pathetic in comparison to NZs |

Intresting points jeza..is the world better off without the allblacks?. No of course not and I suppose teams do use the allblacks as the benchmark,and this is from a sa point of view...was the world better off without south afric?...again no..its only the past 15 years the springbok record has been poor incomparison to that of sa
sides of the past. so to be fair nz is the benchmark most
of the time with teams like australia popping up (nineties to 2001 )and englands dominence from 2001 to 2003.
one things for sure....france certinly lift themselfs against the abs |

I don't care if the All Blacks are not the team who wins every game, or even can't win the world cup.
I love the team and always will.
But then again I'm not alone. I think you will find the All Blacks Mana will be intact after this world cup, Thats thanks to people like Pine Tree. All I hope is that the powers to be make one Rule.
Only the very best 1st 15 start in a test. |

I ask this question of all of you.
Is world rugby better off without the All Blacks?
Irrelevant of your national heritage or what country you come from EVERY Rugby team in the world views its performance based on the "time they played the All Blacks.".
Not the time they played the English, South Africans, Barberians, French or some other country. It has always been about how well they played agains the All Blacks.
All great players of new and old of non All Black national representation have made comments along these lines.
" Well its the All Blacks isn't it." Catt
" Its a religion in that Country, its never an easy game and you never know if you will win or not." Campese
" They are consistantly the best team in the world, hopefully we can upset them." (Gregan the day before they did upset us in that ever famous match where Wilson was tackled by Gregan on the try line).
These comments and many others by Lion's teams, Welsh, South Africans, French and others measure their ability against the All Blacks, not some other national squad. The only team that has ever come close to this was the Wallabies squad in the early 90's. |

Robin is right. The All Blacks will be back, not that they have gone far.
All I hope is we go back to the old standards.
For every test we only play our very best form players in every position. No exceptions.
If someone is not in the first 15 he knows he has to prove himself to get there. |

| Its ok for pommies and ozzies etc... to be patriotic but when new zealanders are patriotic and support their team we are accused of being arrogant!!! that in itself is an arrogant thing to say.If the ABs were in the final tommorrow they would be ranked favourites to win..... u guys shouldnt knock the ABs they will come back next year and bite u on the butts watch this space!!! |

And what game actually matters internationally??? And it's only a game anyway - so does it matter anyway? And I guess you must consider yourself a pea brain sheltered kiwi to be in here answering a worthwhile question! And just think of the millions around the world that have sat themselves infront of the moving picture box and watched this sport that is only a major sport in NZ. Oh to be that unpopular eh?

| over paid and under done other sports teams are not that lucky to get funding they have to find there own and then they go and win a gold medal players for nz recieve awards and what do they get sweet FA it is disgusting ie the NZ ICE BLACKS DID JUST THAT THIS YEAR AND WHO HEARD ABOUT THEM NO NO ONE |
