| You will find various online maps, although some areas are not covered that well. Where abouts in Mindanao do you intend to travel? There, some areas are safe, but others are best left alone unless with friends that live there. Davao is OK, and does have worthwhile attractions, Samal Island for one! Davao also has the attraction of being relatively cheap, and relatively few tourists as many countries have travel warnings in place, Including NZ! Additionally if travelling to Davao, expect a full customs search upon return to NZ, as it is likely that customs will decide to do this. |

If you need a travel guide to the Philippines, the Lonely
Planet guide is probably the best. |

| Hi - I am actually traveling to the Philippines this coming friday - your best bet is to download Google earth, and go from there. The photos there are extremely clear and you can set it up to shoe roads, schools, malls etc. |
