If you havnt got a Job set up it will be a struggle.NZ accept a lot of immigrents from all over the world.
Most end up accepting much lower positions or driving taxi's. While NZ erflects a degree of culturalisms theres undercurrents of xenophobio at least in the Public sphere, working in education is a bit more openminded.
Depending of lifestyle and how much you want to pay for cost of living NZs prety open, though if you life in the south island yu need gumboots, n to like snow and to ba able to catch sheep if yur single. N the north, it ranges from windy to semi tropical, better beaches if you ilke that though generally unless yur in the central north island no one is far from a beach good luck |

| Hi BH, If you do not intend to work, have no education or skills to offer and just want to live off government hand outs and benifits, this is the place for you. If not, stay in Australia. |

| Do come here for the scenery! :) BUT DO NOT COME HERE IF,?? you want to make friends, like night life , enjoy good food ( awful) like tv, ( truely dreadful), want to feel safe on the road ( mad drivers!! ), be emploeyed by good employer ( get treated like dirt) , expect to laugh ( no sense of humour what so ever), be paid well ( not),live cheaply ( bloody expensive) , want to ripped off by the locals? most definately!! think very very carefully.... |

| Don’t make an *** of yourself. Australia is match better than New Zealand. No Maori to do all the land claims and begging. No backbiting like here in NZ. Hope the new Government will stop this handout and land claims. Stay in AU and you will be better off. Read the responds that I ill get and then you will understand what I’m talking about. |

| Fantastic Black, come on down. But seriously? Why? I mean NZ's cool and that, best thing we are far away from the rest of the world...but secoundly...Why would you want cool stuff to do? America's got it all. I mean what's the point? NZ is expensive, and any "cool" stuff is for the wealthy. So if you go $$$ then by all mean's come, but I dont think your going to find anything different here then what you aint got already in your own country! |

*Smiles* I'm 29 and love hiking, camping, chilling out at the beach, having a glass of wine with friends and watching sunsets. I also enjoy good nightlife too!
I'm working towards having the money to travel and tramp a bit as I am wanting to find the "RIGHT" place for me! |

Really depends on what you like to do! New Zealand is a great country and there really is something for everyone here. Auckland is just like any other major city in any other country so unless that's what you're looking for I'd avoid it!
I live in Nelson (top of the South Island) and absolutely love it here and can recommend the Abel Tasman National Park (on our doorstep - awesome tramping, kayaking or get a boat to Awaroa and stay at the Lodge) and Golden Bay. Not far to the Marlborough Sounds too - absolutely gorgeous. The weather and people are fantastic here - does get cold in winter though but we don't get snow. Not far to ski fields though if that's what you're into. Lots of mountain biking tracks, wineries, cafes, crafts, etc. The Saturday market in Nelson city is a must do.
Great suggestion to get a campervan and travel around a bit first (if finances allow) as New Zealand is full of beautiful places to live - I'm just biased when it comes to Nelson :) The further south you go, the colder the weather gets (summer and winter). Tropical climates are in the far North (north of Auckland).
Good luck and hope this helps! |

Hi there
Most Intelligent decision youve ever made in your life
moving to New Zealand ( bet that went down well in aussie) hahaha...
hey either Island is beautiful ,but Im from Christchurch so that would obviously be my first suggestion ,but honestly my brother lives in Whakatane which he loves for the beaches and its not Auckland ( hes tired of the big citys now) .
Google www.stuff.co.nz for starters
Im living in the Carolina's USA right now so cant show ya around but all the best and good luck!
P.S Second thought going into Winter there so the North Island will be warmer |

how much money do you have, NZ has places split by $
and depends on what lifestyle you want
lakes, beaches, countryside, snow in winter or not
I suggest you get a campervan in travel around for 6 months. |
