Denise and Madaxe, there will always be povety in this country as long as the group that measures povety uses its bad maths, a % of children live in povety because there parents earn less than 1/2 the average wage. Well if you double everyone wage everyone now earns twise as much but the same % of children STILL have parents that earn less that 1/2 the average wage. So no matter how much we all earn there will still be poverty just because certain groups can't get there heads around a desent mesuring tool.

madaxe there's no need for povety, not in this time and age and your right this is the most beautiful place in the world.... but we adapt to well-well some do!!! I lived out of the country for a good 15 years and returned, hard yacker but adapting was hard but taught me a lesson and it came together in the end. I listened to the backlash of Kiwisaver and watched my peers debait it trying to talk them into doing it was like talking to a brick wall. 2 years later they got it but they wasted a whole year a lack of understanding a lack of that govt being to slow not keeping up with the rest of the world and thats my point the govt kept New Zealand at bay. Kiwi's are slow and adapting to change and way behind in the rest of the world. cutting cost Nats are going to do well especially with Peta Sharples....... laugh all you's want watch him change this society for the best...............

Yeah right denise. You're a rat on wheel with that attitude. Fear mongering to keep people stuck in dead end jobs. Sucking up to bosses? What a joke. You obviously value yourself very little. Don't expect others to behave like you. Not everyone has such low self esteem and it's performance not licking peanuts from the bosses backside that keeps people in work. Unless little suck ups like you weasel in the back door and politcally manouvere there way into power. That's a polite way of saying it.

I hardly think so, those that work suck up to your bosses and keep a firm grip on your job regardless of how high your taxes are dont invest and dont bank with the govt.
