The Maori always had a fully staffed Emabassy and Consular Services on Rarotonga. This assisted the Rarotongan citizens getting holiday visa's and other services.

Re:Rarotonga Reply to this message
Would love to say Rarotonga was my favourite holiday spot, but I spent most of the time either laying on the bed with the airconditioning as cold as it could get, or either sitting or leaning over the toilet (sometimes it was tricky) practically the whole time I was there. Just wanted to get home. Hey but I did get my drivers licence for $10. Will go back some day and really see what it's like.

Kiaorana

Just thought I would start this thread for no intended purpose but for mere fun.

Rarotonga is my favourite holiday destination. Plus the family ties there also.

Does anyone have any personal information about the Maori migration and the relationship to Rarotonga.

I have family research that places Maori in Rarotonga, Marquesas, Tahiti and Hawaii with links to Kamehameha as well.

Any information gratefully appreciated and yes I have been to Muri to see the waka landings area there too.

Tainui, takitimu etc...
